Laid an egg.
Might be some decent players, but way early.
Sadly, Dallas passed on some really good dudes.
Damn...
I cannot believe how badly the 3rd round went for us. I had a bad feeling when McNeill and Milton Williams went off the board. Odighizuwa might not be a bad player. I see no point in drafting Golston in the 3rd round. If he beats out Bradley Anae it will only be because Anae was a 5th round pick and Golston is a 3rd. Golston is not better than Dorance Armstrong. Then Anthony Schwartz, Spencer Brown and Ben Cleveland all went off the board. My bad feeling got worse.
When the Cowboys selected potential undrafted free agent Nahshon Wright at 99 I thought I fell asleep and was dreaming it was 2001 again. I get that Wright is suited for the cover 3 defense Quinn is planning on using. He is long. But he weighs in a 186 lbs at 6'4". He did 6 reps of 225 lbs! 31" vertical! There were more than a dozen 300+ lb offensive linemen who bested that. Clearly they wanted him but why in the 3rd round? He would be there in the 6th round in all likelihood. At worst, they pick again 16spots from 99 so why not wait? And if he wasn't, did they really miss much? Had they taken Melifonwu, who is only 2" shorter than Wright with the same length arms, atleast they would have gotten a CB who can play more than cover 3. Wright is going to get bullied by Da'Vonta Smith!
It's good that every pick was defense but they needed 4 good players out of 6 picks tonight. They got 1, maybe 2. I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us tomorrow.
On the plus side, I like the Joseph pick. I think he is going to be a very good CB.
