Love Dan Campbell's 1st draft w/Lions

Look at this haul the Lions got:

-Sewell
-Onwuz
-McNeil
-Melifonwu

Maybe we should of hired him over

just need Dan Brugler to run our draft. I’m pretty certain over 90% of people here would prefer that result.

thats alot of beef there, and they fleeced the Rams for Stafford....but at the end of the day they are still the Lions

They won't be the Lions of old for long. Dan seems to appreciate draft capital and draft value. Dallas stopped being the Cowboys of the 90s when JJ decided he had all of this draft stuff figured out.

They didn't take a quarterback, and have nothing at WR, so the rest is pretty meaningless.

They're building a team that has no chance at contending.
Lions have no chance next year. It’s a 2-3 year project.

It's a project that has no chance of success without a QB. It'd be 2-3 years if they had a qb, right now, there is no reasonable timeline that they'll contend

Fields was right there for the taking and they did the worst thing possible. They're purposely building to be what they Bears were last year.

They knocked it out though I would have gone with Justin Fields

I'm ehhh on it. Sewell is a Tyron-esque monster who will pay immediate dividends, but the rest feels like the Lions are gambling on athletes.

Cleveland is the team destroying this draft IMO. Newsome will start day 1 and JOK is like getting a first round pick for free. Browns fans should be thrilled that not only did rebuild #58 finally succeed, there appears to be a really solid process to keep it going.

You win on the lines. What good are great receivers when you cant protect the QB.... Easier to get above average skilled players than it is lineman.

Not without a quarterback you don't, and no it isn't.

You can scheme to compensate for average OL, you can't compensate for a lack of playmakers

I disagree, the decade where the eagles won the NFC east title regularly and a few NFC title games under their belt they lacked playmakers (minus year with TO).

Also, need doesn't matter for Detroit right now. They're in teardown and rebuild mode, and could use good football players at any position. No vet on that current roster is good enough to block anyone, pun not intended.

Doesn't matter, that league is gone.

The Chiefs guards were the worst run blockers in the league last year...they had no problem scoring bc they have a qb and wrs.

You can win with good skill players and an average ol. You absolutely can't win with poor skill players and a great ol.

Lots of qbs can throw a ball when they have time to throw. Lots of rbs can run the ball when you make holes for them. Games are won and lost in the trenches. Always have been. Always will.

Waiting 25 years for a mahomes type player is the outlier. Not the norm.
