You people are ridiculous.
From what I’ve researched, IIRC, Parsons has allowed zero TDs in coverage in his career. I could be wrong on that. There isn’t a big sample size, but when he has covered he hasn’t been awful.
We have Cox now anyway who has incredible instincts in coverage. He can easily cover the slot and TEs. A combo of those two could turn out to be a killer duo.
Yup....a V 2.0 of jaylon....but starting out healthyWhether people want to admit it or not. Parsons is extremely raw.. He’s just really good at, like he said in his presser, see ball get ball.

You should be sentenced to date Rosie O'Donnel for the next 20 years for that post. He's the best LB in the history of the team.
I’m not a fan of the pick until he proves he can cover. If he can’t cover than it’s a wasted pick IMO.
This is just Lavar Arringtons take.
Catch... you keep bringing this up. Like a ton of your posts, but for the life of me I do not understand why you believe a 4.4 guy that has fluid hips and has proven athletic ability will be unable handle coverage from time to time.
Do I isolate him on guys like Tyreek Hill? Of course not. Could he hang with Kelce? I think he can. He also has a sense and sees plays well. Sniffs out screens and misdirection.
I bet by game 8 you will be a big fan.
His hip fluidity and lateral change of direction are actually two of his weaknesses. He's explosive and quick downhill, but his COD leaves something to be desired. He also has very little experience dropping back. As a former DE, this means he probably lacks real instincts or feel for the passing game. If the Cowboys ask him to cover, not only are they negating his strengths, but they're not going to see much better production than Jaylon. At least not for the near future.
Lots of crazy good athletes can't cover for squat. Taylor Mays comes to mind right off the bat.
According to Lavar Arrington he is. I thought some of you would enjoy this.
Fast forward to 5:30 into the video.

Yeah.. I want to be clear.. The guy is a super talent.. As talented as it gets.
But people acting like he’s the best defender in the draft ? Puh lease. It’s all a projection at this point at a position that’s not worth taking risks on anyways.
I don’t even think he’s the best linebacker in this class. Most talented? Sure..
If I’m taking a risk on a Super talent at linebacker I’d prefer them to have the skill that the guy from Clemson who went to Arizona had last year..
It wasn't just Lavar Arrington saying this but James Laurinaitis, former Ohio State University All-American linebacker.
Again, I'm concerned about the character and the Cowboys culture, but if those teams prove a non-factor, I'm excited by this pick.
We've needed/need an impact player on defense. I'm hoping Parsons is that player. I'm not going to compare him with Ray Lewis, Von Miller or Mike Singletary. But all I know is that those linebackers played a major role in their teams winning the Super Bowl.
Hopefully, lightning will strike a fourth time.
I’m over the RKG culture.
Just thug it up.. Dak is the face of the franchise anyways and he can give the shiny company line that people identify the Cowboys as.
The rest of the team just needs to be good at football. We love our 90s Cowboys and at the time I’d say they weren’t RKG types.
That guy was Isaiah Simmons. There where big question marks on him with regards to actually playing LB.
Simmons: Great in coverage for LB but didn't have LB type responsibilities vs the run in college.
Parsons: Great vs the run and pass rushing but limited opportunities in coverage.
Obviously the modern NFL is a passing league, but we saw first hand last season what happens if a defense can't stop the run.
- We also saw it in the 2018 season playoff game vs the Rams.
