I see Micah Parsons as an intimidating and aggressive physical presence, who will establish himself on defense as an unavoidable force. The Cowboys have needed an MLB with these attributes forever. I hope he sees a highly successful career with the Cowboys for many years to come. May this mark the onset of attaining intimidating defensive personnel on a regular basis in the future. A return to the Doomsday Defense would be a miraculous thing.

Amen.. Much as I admired the RKG approach Garrett and co tried to get.. everybody knows you need some mean and nasty sumb1tches to get your team over the hump. Sometimes you need a guy willing to knock the hell out of a guy even if they had a nice time together in Cabo last spring and their wives are besties.. Here's hoping Parsons becomes the ring leader of a band of nasties on our defense for the next decade.

I like highlights but where are the misreads and inability to shed the blocks cuts?

Not being negative at all, I like the pick but I watched him play several games and he has a lot of area to improve in. I am also not saying he can't or won't but I saw some highlights of Jaylon Smith that will light you up. I have yet to see that Jaylon Smith in a Cowboys uniform. He was an all over the field wonder at ND. Now, I am not so sure he was where he was supposed to be.

I like the fact Parsons is coming in with some ? about him and something to prove, including maturity. I am hoping he's our first 1st round D player to actually pan out since Ware. It's been that long. Jones was the closest thing but he wasn't a playmaker. This defense needs a playmaker in the worst way.

Well said, Couch Coach and Ronnie T24. I know, without a doubt, how this team's fans long for our power-packed defenses of the past!

Jaylon lost a leg after those highlights

Nothing to analyze. He came from a great LB college. He'll be the next Sean Lee. But, if he plays as hard as Lee has, he too will endure injuries.

True stuff, milady -- the best thing Jerry could bestow upon this team in the here and now would be for Sean Lee to be put in full charge of schooling our newly-acquired MLB in Micah Parsons. That would be the best of both worlds for this team and its many fans! Hoo-rah!!

I actually seen one misread but he made up for it with speed
He’s gonna have some things to work on. More so than some rookies because he’s played less games
One thing that helps reads is preparation and I’d bring Lee back to work with him on that. Lee was really good at reads because he studied so hard. Teach the kid how to study film
I really hope that they start him in the middle but also find more ways to use him on pass rush
I’ve always thought using Jaylon on the edge sometimes to rush would play to his strength
I’d like to see parsons on the edge some
If the kid puts in the work he can be a very good player because his athleticism is off the charts for his size

Everyone who played for Seattle’s D back during the Legion of Boom era had an edge to them. Wagner and Wright were mean. Chancellor was mean. Earl was cocky and Sherman and Browner were too. Bennett and the Dline were mean.

That’s what I want. Intimidation.

We have a few now that can play like that. Wilson, and Diggs. Neal and Parsons. Gregory is kind of that way too. Hopefully Quinn creates that mindset.

He does, he is raw. Needs more experience. Doubt they have him in the middle calling the defense the first year.

How do you compare him to pre-injury Jaylon Smith?

Spot on. You can feel this draft changing of the guard with the players chosen. especially parsons. Getting away from the RKG and getting back to a dominant defense.
