I expect worse comments as people wake up, and log in. It makes their day to see positives so they can crap on it, to start their miserable day. :lmao:
Plus being a Mickey article adds fuel to the fire. Glad I can start their day out like this. :muttley:

How can things NOT be looking up as compared to last year? Half the team was injured and Dalton was our QB. It was literally a nightmare.

Mickey talking about the injured players on offense looking good in their rehab.
Also mentions if the defense can moderately improve or even get to average, will be a big help.

Have at it.
This the biggest homer article I ever seen written with no journalistic integrity.

Dak is back without 300 pound defensive lineman jumping on his back testing that ankle.

Lael Collins is back without bending and shifting his hips to move a 300 pound defensive lineman.

Tyron Smith is back from a neck injury without a defensive end slamming his helmet into Smiths helmet

Jarwin is back without running cutting on routes, getting hits to his knee and legs by smaller DBs trying to tackle bigger TEs.

Let's get through OTAs, training camp, preseason, and the 1st regular season game before saying anyone is back from injury. Football is a collision sport. If you are injured, you must survive collisions before you can say you are back.

Slower? Ankle injuries don't make one slower... I know from whence I speak as I have had a ton of them. Aside from letting you know when it's going to rain or when the weather is about to turn cold the one I tore up at age 23 has had no lasting effect on me and certainly didn't make me any slower once it had healed completely. And medical science has gotten a LOT better about fixing these things than they were 40 years ago when I did mine.

As for how this team will do.. If they stay healthy I feel fairly confident they will win 12 games. If they don't.. all bets are off.
Good points but don’t you think a player with such an injury will be apprehensive about rushing with the ball and getting hit ? I did not have such an injury but I would think hesitation makes the decision making process slower .

Still smarting eh?
Smarting about what?
I guess you could say I'm a little disappointed you couldn't make a coherent argument to prove your point.
You want to give it another shot?
I love toying with you. You simply don't know when to call it quits.

first time we spent the first 6 picks on defense in franchise history right?

All that says is that, after 25 or so years, it is wishful thinking that we have arrived at the secret sauce for success by drafting a good LB and several others who might or might not pan out in the NFL.

Typical Spagnola hype piece, but he does make a point. If the Cowboys can avoid their annual M.A.S.H.unit type season, they can definitely make some noise. That's a big "if".

It sounds like I’m more optimistic than you are on this one. I think they can ‘jump up’ to middle of the league defensively based on a more sound scheme with simpler roles and responsibilities.
I am not very confident that the rookies are going to have much impact this season. Another thing that gives me doubt is that many of the players from the 2019 season are still on the roster. The defensive players were bad before Nolan came along and those same players still make up a high percentage of the defensive roster. I think it will take at least one more defensive draft, maybe two, before the defense can become average/ above average group.

Injuries are part and parcel of the NFL. What team does not have them?
The diff is, mateys, that some teams are prepared with depth and real conditioning. We seem to have neither.

I do not think that this draft class is going to have a big of an impact as others seems too believe. At least not this season. If you take some of these posts seriously, Dallas has magically gained the ability to pick their starting 1-tech in the 6th round and a very inexperienced CB in the second round is actually as good as the top two CBs drafted. Too much certainty is being placed on the drafted players and FAs that was signed. I see it as a bunch of unanswered questions instead of answers to the problems on defense. I hope for the best, but I wouldn’t bet a dime that some of these picks will contribute too improving the defense.
