Nolan should have known better than to try and do a complete overhaul given the circumstances of 2020. His biggest failure, IMO, was not recognizing that he didn't have enough time/practice to completely overhaul the defense.like he mentioned this isnt new Marinelli was very hands on and we saw JG working on the field all the time with players..so calm down with the excitement already lOL
hers the difference. Nolan did NOT HAVE AN OFFSEASON, most of his critics are unfairly judging this guy, as little as thee Rookie OTas, OTAS, MC, TC and PS seem, its the single biggest reason for the failure of Nolan getting is scheme installed with the correct players.. second reason Injuries..have to get to 3 for actual coaching..
sure he was let go as a lot of defensive coaches because of the unsuccessful season but IMHO given this full offseason im betting they would have had chance to improve a lot..
assessments of any plyer or coach last year truly is incomplete and unfair.. i mean of course the offense being for the most part status quo from 19 the defense tried to to change everything and how that on Nolan alone is just using him as scapegoat..
hers to having hope its going to be better..ill save my praise for Real game results not rookie OTAS
There were other teams with a new headcoach and/or defensive coordinator. They all were handicapped as we were. We provided the worst results. Even after 1 year, someone had to go.like he mentioned this isnt new Marinelli was very hands on and we saw JG working on the field all the time with players..so calm down with the excitement already lOL

There’s significant truth in this. However, Nolan should’ve recognized this and adjusted earlier than he did. But the bottom line is there is no way to completely quantify how much the circumstances factored. There was no way you could risk Nolan and his scheme would produce the same results this year. Fair or not, you just couldn’t take the risk.assessments of any plyer or coach last year truly is incomplete and unfair.. i mean of course the offense being for the most part status quo from 19 the defense tried to to change everything and how that on Nolan alone is just using him as scapegoat..
Great clip, thanks for sharing. Its hard not to be excited moving forward. I cant wait to see our big man out there keeping the LBS clean. We got some play makers if we put em in position.

not at all sorry but he was brought in by the FO and MM knowing that type of defense he ran and in all fairness he couldn't evaluate the rookies and Fas and found out late his failure was mostly due to roster choices. again an offseason like quinn nis being afforded cold be far different outcome..Nolan should have known better than to try and do a complete overhaul given the circumstances of 2020. I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share it. Now getting back down to earth these young guys are about to get a taste of the NFL when guys like Dak, Cooper, Gallup and Lamb come into the OTA. Looking forward to seeing them go up against some of the top WR in the game.
My feeling on Nolan was that he should have compensated on the complexity of his defense. He should have understood and came to terms with the fact that no minicamps, training camp and preseason meant far less opportunity for the team to prepare his defense for the season.
When Bill Parcells first became HC he realized that he didn't have time to immediately convert the defense to a 3-4 so he kept the 4-3 for one season. That season was the highest ranked in Cowboys history for the defense. They were ranked #1 in yardage and #2 in points allowed. The Cowboys have never been ranked #1 in both categories for defense.
Those are polar opposite reactions to challenging circumstances.

One of the best things about our defense last year is that we can only improve. It simply can't get worse lol. I agree it's silly to get overly excited, but it's nice to have the potential. It will be fun to see these rooks compete with Coop and company.
