How is he underrated? The Cowboys gave up a 1st round draft pick to get him. Then they paid him $20 million a year which is right up there with the top receivers in the league.
Throughout his career he has disappeared for almost half the games he has played. Since he came into the league, Cooper has 42 games where he caught passes for less than 50 yards. That's 45% of his games. Over the same period, Davante Adams has had 28 games of less than 50 yards and DeAndre Hopkins has had 18. Michael Thomas has only 14 but in 1 fewer years.
Amari Cooper is the top receiver on the Cowboys so far. I won't argue that. He is an excellent route runner and has decent hands. But he gets paid the 4th highest salary in the league for a WR, and he was actually 2nd I believe when he got paid by the Cowboys. He is a good guy by all accounts, and he took less money to be with the Cowboys. That's all good stuff. But I don't know how you overlook the games when he, for whatever reason, does not pull a fair share for a guy earning top $.
I don't see how anyone can claim he is underrated.
What's next, a highlight reel of Demarcus Lawrence's 5.5 sacks with the headlines, "Underrated!"?
