Julio Jones traded to Titans

Julio Jones was not making this Cowboys' team better. Let that sink in when evaluating the front office. The front office put together one of the tops, if not the top, WR groups in the NFL - Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup. The cupboard isn't bare. That isn't to say there are not problems elsewhere.

The Titans gave up a lot for a 32-year-old WR and took on his $15M salary. The Titans are gambling and needed to reach since their WR corps was pretty bare.

The Falcons needed to move Julio Jones because of their front office and how they handled the salary cap the past few years. The Falcons also have to re-sign some younger WRs to big contracts soon. I believe Julio was injured for a while last year and previous years and the offense did just fine without him.

Yes, the Cowboys' front office made mistakes and good decisions just like the Falcons' and Titans' front office. We shall see how all this plays out.
I'm still waiting for someone, anyone, to point to where I said anything about the Cowboys getting Jones.

I simply said that the Titans are a good team trying to get better and I wish the Cowboys would do the same after their better seasons instead of staying in the "we like our guys" mindset.

Me saying that somehow got misconstrued into people acting like I said the Cowboys should have got Jones. Never did I say that.

thats a pile of doo doo, hot steaming doodoo

sorry but if ATL was willing to trade difference makers why would they weaken their team? shame on them LMAO

JJ is not the difference maker he once was, all 3 of our WRs are better then him at the moment..JJ is aging, injury prone and expensive. He may help TT but to stay they are out making moves to improve , how about this they didnt have a good WR and went and got one..you know like we did with AC in 2018..

you are making a big deal about this and this is why these non cowboys related posts dont belong here, theres and NFL section and off topic section so we dont have to hear the crying by fans like you..

this trade means nothing in the grand scheme of things, one team loses player one gtes him..its a wash and again has zero effect of the DC..NONE ,squat..
The inspired Jones is going to give Tennesse their moneys worth...albeit for only a season or two.

None of this has anything to do with our team if anyone is saying that. Didn't read whole thread.

Where is the money?
Titans cap space is $3,356,220.
Purchase price $15.6 million

When they get to the checkout, they gonna have to put something back!

It will be interesting to see how the Titans clear the $15M cap space needed. The Cowboys could clear $30M at the drop of a hat if they wanted to restructure Lawrence, Elliott, and Jaylon. Three players I do not want here next year and would not consider restructuring.

I am guessing Tannehill and Henry will be restructured.

I agree.

Especially at that position. The threat of him missing pre season work means almost nothing.

For a lousy late second rounder, it would be worth the bluff.

Maybe this puts an end to the trade Gallup for a 1st posts at least.
Gallup's better younger healther player right at this time then Julio but yes i dont think we would get 1 for Gallup anyway but 2 and 3 maybe...i never wanted to trade him anyway..

My opinion is i like Lamb and Gallup as the future here, moving AC for 2022 would be smarter.

Whats the difference? we could and should get simaler trade for AC as JJ got..so the trade should be used a barometer for moving AC in 2022, possibly..

You are in a Julio Jones just got traded thread and complaining about the Cowboys' front office. What do you think people are going to think? You should have been clearer.

Anyway, if you want to rip on the front office, how about taking a look at the reasons the Atlanta front office and the Titans' front office did what they just did if you want to critique front offices.

Are you trying to imply that I wanted the Cowboys to go after Jones? Because I did not say that at all and I don't see how one could even come to that conclusion.

I simply said that the Titans are an already good team that is trying to get better and I wished the Cowboys would follow that design. That's it. Why is that an issue?

The issue is just that, why turn it against Dallas saying they do not try to improve the team. They DO try to improve the team. So why turn it into a negative against Dallas when there is nothing there. As I said, some fans just look to turn everything into something against Dallas and the FO.
No I was not saying to thought we should go after Julio.

"The Titans were already a problem regardless, but now they become a bigger threat.

I always get jealous to see already good teams try and get better. That's why this franchise can't get out of it's own way. If we do have a good season we don't try to improve on it. We "like our guys" too much."

That is what I said, and well, you see the rant he went on in replying to it.

And then someone imply that means the Cowboys should have went after Jones?

Titans could have had Sammy Watkins for $5M and kept their 2nd round pick.
It will be interesting to see which was the better decision.

Because you wrote it in a Julio Jones just got traded thread.
Are you serious?

So me saying that then automatically means I wanted the Cowboys to go after Jones?

Yikes.

I guess I shouldn't bring up the Cowboys on a Cowboys forum if I don't want my words to be twisted. Lesson learned.

Careful sir....whenever moving on from Cooper is brought up around here as a possibility....people lose their minds.

Titans are in win now mode, so big time acquisition. Sammy Watkins is not that good.
