Hard Knocks is showing what is important to the franchise

I love how we are excited to be doing hard knocks even thought he restrictions are as follows:

1. If you have done it in the last 10 years you do not have to do it. This clearly implies that it is not something you want to do.

2. If you have a first year head coach. Again this clearly implies it is not something you want to do. You are terrible and starting over we do not wish this additional pain on you.

3. You were in the playoffs the last 2 years. Yet again this implies that it is not something you want to do if you are a real time that competes for a championship every year.

Yet here we go again the Dallas Cowboys prepare for the show. Is it just me or does everyone else see how this is clearly illustrating what is important to this franchise.

The Cowboys ARE the biggest show in the NFL!

The limelight is nothing new to our Cowboys. They are used to it. Actually, since it's been over 10 years since the last time they starred on Hard Knocks, this should drive them to be better. It helps the players make a name (or bigger) for themselves while showcasing America's Team to the world!

Speak for yourself. If you want what's best for the team and you understand the distraction this show will cause, you aren't so excited as you suggest to be doing Hard Knocks. The way you talk about it reveals your perspective and you only care about it for yourself as a fan. That's selfish, IMO, when all that matters is what you get out of it. I think that's how Jerry sees it, The attention it draws is like a drug to Jerry which is what he craves the most. It won't help the team which is what the first consideration should be, I don't buy that the Cowboys were selected by HBO strictly because they are the so-called, "obvious choice". I think Jerry volunteered them. But let's put that argument aside, even if HBO did just pick the Cowboys rather than picking one of the other 5 eligible teams that have never done the show before, Cowboys fans that want what's best for the team first should hate this decision for the distraction it will cause. Period.

The premise that this illustrates what is important to this franchise is nonsense. It illustrates what's important to one man, Jerry Jones. The coaches don't want this, they want the team to be focused on the task at hand. Maybe some of the players without their priorities straight want this. Anyone that is pissed off about the past 25 years not yielding anything more than a defeat in the divisional round should hate this. The Cowboys probably just lost the focus to achieve their season goals. Understand that people. That is the reality of this decision by HBO. You're damn right I'm pissed off.

Dallas was also featured on All or Nothing in the 2017 season, which is similar to Hard Knocks but they follow the team around all year instead of just training camp.

I just watched that entire series. Zeke's suspension really screwed us, but I found it ironic that the team started winning without Zeke and then lost and eliminated from the playoffs when Zeke returned.

Why does everyone see them as wanting to do this? I doubt Jerry asked for it but the NFL and HBO had meetings then those meetings included the possible teams which are out of team control. We know why the NFL and HBO wants the cowboys vs any other team and Jerry isn't going to push back too hard as it's good for exposure. But that doesn't mean he asked to be on it, though there isn't much he can do to refuse it.
