However if Kellen was HC, and he hired a new OC, that might be ok, but I figure he would be HC / OC.

People say MM gets a break for 2020, but no one expected a 12-4 season after dak went down, but 9-7 was doable.
Also with dak he was 1-3 and the one win had nothing to do with MM, just a lucky ST play.

I mainly judged him on his in game decisions, which were off the chart bad and crazy at times.

Still he is getting this season, so he gets another chance.
I just agree with broadus that he doesnt bring much to the table.

Cowboys fans dont like any HC Jerry hires,,,,,they bash them all....(Garrett was deserving tho). Why dont the fans just chill....and the let the coach..coach and players play......MM is in a no-win situation with the fans.....he loses its his fault...they win its because of DAK..... No respect either way...but that goes with the territory of being the Cowboys HC. Its hard to turn around a Franchise use to losing for the last 25years

Can't judge any coach's performance from a season like last year for the Cowboys. I do agree that McCarthy's judgment on staff picks deserves criticism and close scrutiny. If the Cowboys can't win the division this year and make a strong move for a spot in the NFC Championship game, McCarthy needs to go.

Hell yes you can judge......running a fake punt on 4th and 11 from inside your own 30. Might be the dumbest call ever made....and it just goes to show...the guy is clueless when managing a close game. That single call....started the landslide vs the WFT....and basically handed them the division right there.

I don't know. It didn't look to me like Jerry even tried to find a head coach. How many people did he interview?

I think that is why people were underwhelmed with the hire.

Often it just looks like Jerry doesn't even care if the team wins another game.

They lost twice to WFT by more than 20. Getting a good punt off in that situation wasn't changing anything, though I do agree that it was an abysmal call.

Too many here act like their opinion is fact and they know it to be right… when it isn’t and they don’t.

Personally, I’m giving him this season before I make any decisions on if I think he’s a good coach for Dallas or not. Last year was all kinds of screwed up.

2021 should say a lot about McCarthy in Dallas.

The worst part about the MM hire is they really didn't do a deep search. They had very few interviews seemingly focused on MM from the start.

Wasn’t a good year for candidates. There weren’t really any guys in that hiring cycle that I was enthusiastic about. We would have had to reach into the college ranks to find someone I like better.

I’m not a big McCarthy fan, and he wasn’t my first choice, but we could have done worse.

We were trash offensively until we were down multiple scores and throwing 60 times against some of the leagues worst pass defenses.

Are uh making offense didn’t do squat against the Rams and they weren’t up by multiple scores or trash in the secondary like those other teams we faced.

The whole thing was trash.

I'd have atleast felt better had they talked to a few guys. The x Bengals coach wasn't a real interview, then they spoke to what 2 guys? There are 31 other NFL teams each with 1 oc and 1DC so the minimum pool is 62 possible guys but only interviewed 2-3. That's an excuse. Now if MM was the best of say 6-8 interviews then fine but he wasn't.

I actually thought MM would be much better than he was. I thought I would see a much better dallas team, but after the
1st 4 games, I was shocked at how badly he did , and some of the things were just bizarre.
The defense should have never changed schemes, due to it being all virtual and no PS games, and any fan
could tell that it was not a good idea to change to a new complex scheme, that did not even fit the players they had lol.
The players also did not like it.
And yet MM went forward with it and kept nolan and kept trying to make it work.
That was bizarre.

He made a bad first impression, so now it will be hard to overcome that.

That was bizzare lol, and add to that several other plays.
Not trying to tie the ram game with short fg, and instead trying to convert on 4th and ? was also a big mistake.
Tying the game was the right call to make in that situation.

Well we know that Moore is being given the Garrett treatment. Key here is if he is willing to bury the knife in between McCarthy's plump shoulder blades like Garrett did Phillips.

That old theory is 100% B.S.. This is just a baseless rumor repeated on the internet. It simply did not happen. Phillips says so himself, as do many other coaches in the know.

I challenge anyone to provide credible evidence of this.

We were down 4 w/ 10 minutes to play.....It was a panic move that started the landslide. The smart play.....punt. Play some defense....hell hold them to a FG.....your still down only 7 w/ a chance to tie. Instead....MM opened the flood gates....and any hope of the playoffs was flushed with that call.

Just dumb football....It's a McCarthy trademark. Ask Aaron Rodgers.....and the Packer fans.
