Will Jerry & McClay make a midseason “Amari” trade if defense struggles? Ex. Jalen Ramsey

Do you believe Cowboys make a midseason trade for a premier player for the defense if they continue to struggle? The Rams are a top target who are in dire need of draft stocks if they are willing to move on from Ramsey. I would also target Fletcher Cox from Eagles or Star Lotulelei from Bills to shore up the DL.

Who is your ideal trade player if Cowboys have to make a move?

The mid-season "Amari" trade won't be because the defense is struggling. In fact, it won't be because of the defense at all. It will happen because they want to unload Amari. This will rid the Cowboys of a WR that is long in the tooth careerwise and free up space on the roster where we need another guy elsewhere.

Why would the Rams trade Ramsey? They JUST gave him the biggest contract in CB history, it would absolutely devastate their cap for the next 3 years.

Why would Philadelphia draft a WR in each the last two first rounds only to then trade their best player for another WR? Philadelphia would take a major cap hit for trading Cox, and couldn’t take on Amari’s immense contract even if they didn’t.

Star Lotulelei is currently listed as 4th in the Bills depth chart. Why is Dallas dumping talent to pick up reserve players? It’s entirely possible he doesn’t even start for you if you did trade for him.

Did you do any research before randomly suggesting these names?

answer: NO LOL
jones boys aint trading amari.

and if your going to do something like that it should already have been done.

A midseason race for a blue-chip WR?
Why would Jerry, who holds on to geezers and lame players such as Written and Sean Leach until their wheels fall off, trade away the best player on offence?

Our very own Amari is barely 27, compañero de armas.
Lame though? I myself have his affliction (plantar fascia) and while it's not completely debilitating, it's something that really is only decent discomfort and stretching, along with adrenaline, gets you to near 100 percent before bed.

I'm willing to witness old boy take on the season while keeping a close eye on our second year prize and his possible ascension, or soph slump.

Love lifts us up where we belong, where eagles fly.

We can be heroes, if just for one day.

I am anxious to watch this team this year.

Only if you believe the rumors that Dallas was in discussions with the Patriots about Stephon Gilmore during the draft.
But that's about the extent of where that is going. Gilmore is holding out now that he's in the last year of his contract.
Last year he was paid $14million. This year he'll be paid $7million.

Poor guy doesn't seem to understand he's getting the full value of the $65 million, five year contract he signed.
He now wants to be paid what he's worth which he estimates to be $20million a year.

Jerry's type of player right?

Except Jerry can't be stupid enough to fork out $20million a year for a guy who will be 36 at the end of that contract.
Can he?

What would be the purpose of acquiring a $20million player for a $20million player anyway?

Our saving grace is a trade has to happen first.

Not counting the offensive line, behind dak, Amari is the 2nd most important player on the offense

It's not the question of whether Jerry is stupid enough.
It's the fact that the cap situation dictates they cannot afford the trade.

The guy they have is easily tossed after this year.
The other guy wants a new, expensive deal before he plays.

The Devil is in the details, my friend.

LOL, oh lord are you in for a surprise. They will not let that fruit wilt on the vine.

I totally agree you even if I didn't express it in a similar fashion.
Stephen has to pull the plug on any crazy ideas that might pop into the old man's head.

I don't think so

I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis he only time I notice it is when I have weight off my feet for a period of time. The first 10 or so steps are uncomfortable after resting my feet but after that I do not notice it.

I don't know of a defensive player coming in midseason and providing the catalyst for a season turnaround. I just don't think they are capable of making such an impact. A #1 receiver is always going to be more impactful than any defensive player, they provide instant firepower. if you have the quarterback.

Cooper added an average of 4 points a game. The Cowboys won 3 games by less than that margin, including a playoff game.

I don’t know but I could be wrong but I’m not sure the op is saying Trade Amari ?? I think he means make a mid season “Amari type” of trade for a good defensive player (giving up future picks) if the defense struggles

Right on. I only feel it when when I haven't stretched, like the mornings (the mornings are the worst), or when I exercise and then I sit and work for a solid minute.

You can see the lumps.

Hes not "long in the tooth."
