The reason why Zeke's "splash plays" wouldn't skew his stats because he didn't have very many last year lol. His longest run of the year was 31 yards.........has nothing to do with his sample size.

What stats are you looking at? Aside form volume Pollard's stats were better than Zeke's.....

LOL...its not about "blowing anyone away"....all I asked was a question and you guys are avoiding it.....why did Pollard not struggle? Did he not have the same QB and offensive line?

I'm looking at all stats, and they weren.t better they were pretty much the same and in some cases Zeke's better and Pollard did struggle just as Zeke.
Tony had a 4.3 yards a carry, Zeke 4.0, Tony had 6.9 yards a rec, Zeke had 6.5 yards a rec, Pollard rec yards a game 12.1, While Zeke rec yards a game 22.5, TP 70 catch percentage, Zeke 73.2. Pollard yard per target 4.8, Zeke yard per target 4.8.

There are a number of reasons why a few splash plays would not skew Zeke's stats, not the least of which is his sample size was MUCH larger. As I'm sure you know the larger the sample size the less significant any single data point becomes. There is also a matter of utilization patterns and running styles. Moore runs Zeke almost exclusively up the middle while he tends to run Pollard more to the edges. This makes sense given their build and running styles but it also means Zeke will necessarily have fewer big plays and a lower per tote average. Add in that Zeke also gets many more short yardage carries and you get what you get. Still I have been saying for well over a year that if Kellen Moore is going to run out of shotgun as much as he does and be as quick to abandon the run as he is, then we should trade Zeke and draft another scat back to pair with Pollard. Zeke is wasted in this style of offense and we will never get true return on the investment in him if we're going to play this style of offense. And since we now pay Dak 3 times what we pay Zeke it's a good bet we ARE going to continue to play this wide open pass happy style of offense. So Zeke is probably never going to be among the league leaders anymorie in anything except blitz pickup opportunities. So people will hate him for it.

:clap:Fans forget or overlook during his initial presser, MM would only promise Zeke certain touches, as he put it " Zeke will get his touches". Even his offensive goal is to score fast and turn the game over to his DL appears built more around a passing attack.

Ok so what quarterback and offensive line did Pollard have? Because I don't recall him struggling or underperforming in the time he had out there......
ok now we know you are hater you are as bad as those saying dalton or Darnold are as good as dak LMAO

so TP ie Toilet Paper backup pet cat who had all of 101 carries

for drum rol

4.3 YPC

you are trhyig to use a non thrat to defense wit fresh legs and his .3 YPC beter then zeke because he coasionally broke a decent run where most games he was at under 3 YPC for the OTHER carries

man swimming a a giant MISS homie.

please bring in some real juice next time TP doesnt even come close to qualifying for an argument given so little carries..

i lie TP as change of pace back maybe hes earned few more carried but your argument was straight STALE..

you really trying to compare a back like Zeke from college through today to mr finally broke 100 carries and only could get 4.3 pollard??:lmao2::lmao::laugh:

yes that OL...

btw the article was about zeke pollards name is not mentioned amongst nfl players or coaches only jaded Zeke hating fans..

Because I'm not pitching away at 6 games...I'm referencing what he did ALL season last year. You're taking away some of his carries and stats to benefit your argument yet you aren't doing the same for Zeke.

I threw out Pollard's games with very few carries for what I thought would be obvious reasons but if you insist..

game 1 - 2 for 10 yards
game 2 - 2 for 6 yards .......3 ypc
game 3 - 0 for 0 yards but a nice kick return to the half yard line that resulted in a safety on the next play
game 4 - 3 for 16
game 5 - 6 for 30
game 6 - 10 for 31 ...........3.1 ypc
game 7 - 8 for 16 ............ 2 ypc
game 8 - 7 for 40
game 9 - 5 for 60
game 10 - 9 for 57
game 11 - 4 for 12 3 ypc
game 12 - 8 for 22 < 3 ypc
game 13 - 11 for 39 < 4 ypc
game 14 - 12 for 67
game 15 - 9 for 12 ....1.3 ypc
game 16 - 5 for 15 .... 3 ypc

By my count that's 8 games below 4 ypc and 6 games for 3 ypc or less. How is this not "struggling" at least as much as Zeke? I could go look it up but I don't really have to. I already know that Zeke had fewer games of this level of non-production last year.

right zeke has over 1400 carries in this league and 4.5 YPC average and Royce has some nerve using TOs 4.3 to somehow win an arguments over zeke?

that so much hate rhetoric if their ever was a definition, worst example ever is using a backup who has 2/3 the carries or shots or targets and allow a slightly better average which is expected, to use as a valid point to win an argument..

i remember Hambrick and many other backups that when they gave them starter type carries their averages dropped big time..mr meat onthe bone that was hilarious..

also those saying zeke got paid and got lazy well he had no offseason in 2019 trained on his own while holding out
2019
Cowboys
301
1,357
4.5
12
54
420
7.8
2

that bad year? wow really 301 carries for 4.5 YPC to pollards 101 for 4,3

that sad Royce really sad you hate zeke so much your judgement is clouded..

Okay then. Dak should give Zeke 25 million from his contract and then Zeke should turn around and spread that 30 million out between the O-line. Zeke gets paid plenty. I love both Dak and Zeke, and I'm pulling for them to have a Pro-Bowl year, but they won't accomplish that without a solid O-line. Of course Dak won't do that because he don't have to or need to.

We're all just wasting time with this, and all the other threads like this one. But it does keep us busy until the kick off of training camp. It's almost here guys! :star:

I can’t stand zeke but anyone saying pollard is better is a bit touched

I like pollard with 10 touches a game which isn’t a problem he gets that many cause zeke is always waving for a blow

You must have missed the point of this thread, then.

"We must stop zeke". You can look that up independently of this thread or even me...if you dare.

Meanwhile...you will find NOTHING about "stop pollard stop the cowboys". Not even "anon" will say such a thing. So yes...being #2 is most CERTAINLY relevant regardless of your agenda. Teams do not focus on stopping Pollard....so...he gets yards. And I cite my history.....#2's do better REAGRDLESS of the quality of the rest of the team.

It's really not that complicated unless you CHOOSE to make it so. Don't let your zeke hate cloud your mind. (hey if rockport can do it so can I! I know you don;t "hate" hate...but.....you won't allow yourself the same cheerleader pompoms for zeke that you use for dak. That's not cool at all right? )
You’re wrong here. I cape for Zeke more than anyone. I’m his biggest defender on this site. Dak, Jaylon, Lawrence, Zeke….I probably defend blindly more than anyone.

So im not lumped in with his haters. Im the guy that says since 2016 nobody has been consistently as good as Zeke. I’d even went as far as to say under the circumstances he probably should’ve had a worse year.

So don’t mistake my post as to knocking Zeke because it’s not. I just can’t fix my mouth to sit here and say he didn’t struggle last year and hasn’t. He has. He’s not the same player and he’s certainly not playing like the 15 million dollar back.

See that's the problem I have....you are judging zeke because "he struggled last year".....don;' act like you don't have your boot on his neck about it. You keep going on and on about it....as well as some other people.

OF COURSE he did. So did the WHOLE ENTIRE team.

Except Pollard.

Okay. Cool.
