Team USA basketball

It was a team chemistry issue between Jordan and Isiah. They didn't like each other.

They have to like eachother to work together? It was pretty obvious Thomas wasn't liked. But I thought it petty that he was snubbed.

Well, it wasn't an all-star selection. It was about team building and Isiah was a very competitive awesome person who did not get along with a lot of the guys. I agree he should have been selected based on his status in the game alone but I understand why they left him off.

Nigeria's best player was an NBA rookie. They have zero all-star caliber players. We just have a bunch guys out of shape and unwilling to play defense yet.

Doesn't matter, every body wants to beat the best. They will play harder, stronger and play unselfish basketball if that's what it takes to win. For me, it's not about team USA. Its about competing at the highest level and may the best team should win. Don't care what country, race or nation. You will learn this when you finally reach "Your age of Reason".

"Everybody wants to beat the best"....... wow. Thanks for the cliche'. It makes a lot of sense since that excuse distinguishes this team USA from previous team USA's in absolutely no way.

I kinda have mixed feelings about it...Isiah Thomas missed an opportunity to participate in the 1980 Olympics due to the boycott. Otherwise, he not only would have been on that team, he would have probably been the best player on that team (Magic and Bird made their NBA debut October of 1979).

But realistically, at that point most of the Dream Team did not like him. Jordan may have been the only one to imply it was him or me, but Bird, Ewing, Pippen and Barkley felt really strong about him as well. Even Magic who was a friend at one point, didn't attempt to defend him (to my knowledge). They obviously would have won the gold and dominated, but I don't know if it would have been the same enjoyable experience for everyone and I maybe that would have effected the way other countries perceived the Dream Team.

I have no idea what your talking about, but lets disengage form this topic. We are not going to see eye to eye on this matter, and it appears by your replies and history of replies your not an advant-garde type of being.

Team USA is looking pretty good now. Started slow against AUS but they dominated the second half. KD is leading the team and Holiday has been the defensive spark.

Not a big basketball fan, but do watch the NCAA champ game and will be watching tonight.
