But we actually won a Super Bowl after JJ left. I know it was basically his team but it still happened. Not a curse, just a ton of stupid decisions and some bad luck.

When Barry came in he didn't even want the job, he only did it as a favor to Jerry. He really didn't want to come out of retirement and simply went through the motions, hence the lackadaisical approach to coaching. That is what lead to Aikman going off on Barry and the team taking it upon themselves to win super bowl 30.

But yes, Barry won with Jimmy's team.

As long as JJ and his sons run the show you won't see a SB .
The issue is the culture they have built more than players GM or coaches..
You are so right.Camp cupcake is now in the media for the whole world to see.

Curse? Its called the buffoon that has the franchise in a death grip. How many years in a row did he say he wanted "continuity" when Tom Landry 2.0 clearly wasn't?

These Camp Cupcake comments crack me up. Do you think other teams are having these hardcore training camps where people are training constantly and eating footballs for nutrition? Everyone is bound by the same CBA which severely limits what you can do in training camp and how much practicing you can actually do.

And for all the "JJ sucks! Other teams are so much better!!!!"...Since we last won the Super Bowl there have been 13 teams that have won titles since then. That means since we last won a Super Bowl, it has been even longer for 18 other teams. Hell, there are several teams that have never won one. So for as much as you all hate Jones, keep in mind there are teams that have done worse.

No Curse....just our owners playing football Monopoly.
We're doomed for generations to follow as it's a large family and cash cow.

This would have been the perfect Photoshop opportunity.

Jed = Jerry
Jethro = Stephen
Elly May = Charlotte
Granny = Bugger

I truly believe Dallas would be the only franchise with 7 rings had Romo not botched the hold & Dez' so called dropped pass was reversed.

Neither of those teams were SB caliber. The better opportunities for our 6th and 7th rings were in 1994 and 1996.

So, Im not superstitious....but its been 25-6 years since we been to a Super Bowl. Heck we havent even sniffed a Super Bowl even when we had teams that had legit teams that should have been contenders.

It is almost like we have been cursed.

Remember when The Tuna rebuilt the Cowboys roster into a legit contender and we were a FG away from advancing in the playoffs and somehow the slickest ball in NFL history makes it into the game and Romo fumbles the snap?

What about the Dez no catch against the Packers in the playoffs only for the NFL to make a rule change on what a catch is, using the Dez no catch as an example of what a catch is?
dez-bryant-not-a-catch-gif.gif

What about finally finding a replacement for Marco with Zeke and our MVP level QB gets hurt a couple of weeks before the season starts?
maxresdefault.jpg

Even with a backup 4th round QB we actually had a great season and Dak as rookie went toe to toe with Aaron Rodgers and we still got....Aaron Rodgered?

The Zeke suspension despite the NFL's own investigator testifying against the NFL that Zeke didnt do anything?
Zeke-Suspension-Twitter1.png

We finally fired JG and no true offseason or preseason for the new coaching staff to truly implement their systems?

Again Im not superstitious but.....dang we have had some really bad luck. The only good luck we have had ironically has been a black cat.....

Some of us believe that we have been cursed because of how Jimmy left the team in the 90's. Jerry Jones despite being the owner and the GM not really owning up to being the reason of why Jimmy left could be the primary reason we were cursed.

26 years later....Jerry finally admits that he messed up. Is the Jimmy Johnson curse now lifted?

:clap:This is EXCELLENT!!!!!:clap:

Brilliant idea. Love the black cat inclusion. :laugh:
Thank you for the summary!!!

P.S., where's the clip from the Giants loss in 2007-2008? We had homefield advantage and choked to the eventual Super Bowl winners. :mad::mad:

I couldn't like your post for some reason.
But I agree.
If your offense can't take advantage of two free-agent defensive backs who were picked off the street by Seattle, you're not winning a shoot-out with a young Peyton Manning.
And, if your defense can't beat a one-legged Aaron Rodgers, you're not beating even an elderly Peyton Manning.

I’ve always maintained I’d be against Jerry remaining as GM whether we win championships or not.

As I said from Day 1 on 2-25-1989. We will only tolerate an owner like this if we are winning but we’ll never accept his ways.

And he’s sticking around regardless anyway.

We didn’t have these forums in the 90’s but we were still outspoken about how he ran our franchise when we were winning championships.

And only gave him credit for bringing in the right person in Jimmy. We’d give him credit again if he took a similar role as he did with Jimmy.
If an individual comes before the team, the fandom is abnormal.

No accountability. Even other franchises are quoted as saying that the Cowboys are a soft team. They walk around and act like they are special when they are not.

So why stay here, “rooting” for a team destined to fail?

Good lord that was tough to watch... the Dez catch and getting Aaron Rodgered hurt the most - both unbelievable plays and unreal bad luck. That Rodgers play was magnificent though, 99 times out of 100 it never happens. Amazing.

But yes, Barry won with Jimmy's team.

Did Barry tell you that? A favor?!? No, that was just Barry’s style—big, loose, laid back, loud, simple, etc. Larger than life, smiling, tough guy, and a “company guy”.

The team WAS set up—Super Bowl talent, primed to win. Several coaches could have won it all, but at the NFL level, NO ONE “goes through the motions” to win Lombardi’s. Jimmy was a great coach, far superior to Switzer, but you’re using erroneous hyperbole to feed your view.
