A couple of things here IMO.......Deion's a bit sensitive but what's NOT being reported is he asked the reporter to address him as a coach and he still called him Deion. Just me, but if that's how Deion wants to be addressed, it's how you address him. Respect his wishes. After all, he is a coach.....

Coach Prime, Coach Sanders, Mr Sanders all fine by me.
Deion is probably not great if you don't have that relationship with a guy to do so.

I have buddies I still call Coach that were my assistants in Rec league for kids lol.
It isn't that hard.

All that said, this level of sensitivity is not a great look for Coach Sanders. He could have reached out after and let him know he'd like to be called Coach until they are better acquainted.

+1

My point exactly Nick/coach.....lol

“I think everybody should have the opportunity to sort of make or create their expectation of how they get addressed,” Saban added, “but it’s not something that’s that significant to me.”

Anyway, Alabama opens the season Sept. 4 against Miami in Atlanta.

He’s definitely being a bit sensitive but I do agree he should be addressed as “coach”…..He’s universally known as “Deion” but he’s earned the right to request he be called coach

Yes and he's at a forum to discuss the team, not him as a person. He's the coach, that's what his role is, stick to the format...
