Thank goodness for the Return of OT Lael Collins, ...

While not much is gonna be said or made of what really caused the medical issue of Collins' sudden hip injury that caused him to miss the entire season. it's just been speculation thus far.

1) As compared with being stuck with the ever struggling Terrence Steele starting at RT for much of the year, it is a wonderful feeling to have Lael Collins back at RT again.

And that’s counting on the same Collins that had a stellar year in 2019, when Cowboys finished 2nd in entire NFL in least sacks allowed, and 5th in rushing yards.

2) Having Collins back, means no more worries about being forced to have to go with Terrence Steele again.

- It’s not even pads on practice yet and already I’m hearing from media spotters that Steele is
already struggling in protection drills .
And I’ve already heading in the direction that if Steele is still struggling like this at preseason end,
then I’m not even interested in him as a backup reserve.

- At the very least cut him and place Chaz Green 2.0 on the freakin’ practice squad,.. but I’m
more so ready to move on and invest in someone else.
But we really need have a reliable swing tackle – and Steele aside, there’s only Nyske, Ball and Knight left as hopeful reserves. (sorry no way i'm mentioning Mitch Hyatt)
And a couple of them need to prove reliable.in just this summer per camp, preseason.

>>>> IF he's really back, that's a blessing in disguise for OL. When he is well, the OL plays well.

Assuming no injuries, he has an uphill climb to make the final roster.

He can't play LT by any means.

He had no business in there last year but appeared to be a favorite of the staff.

Didn't they go with him over Knight in the opener?

Looking at these two healthy tackles in shape and coming back ready to roll is going to be HUGE!!!

This line should be back to top 5 this year if they can stay healthy. The strength of Biadasz game is in run blocking. Williams is healthy and playing for a contract. McGovern is in his 3rd year and a great backup.

This offense should be completely rolling. And with Zeke finally taking his workouts seriously he should have a great season.

As he and Tyron's health goes, so goes the team's season.
Backup OT depth chart at either end could cost critical games down the stretch. Against a dline's as stout as WFT's, the presence of Tyron and Lael is practically mandatory to expect a win.
Age, past durability issues and this offseason's surgeries is something to keep an eye on with these 2 tackles imo. Especially after Thanksgiving.

I am somewhat skeptical that both of them make it the full year healthy. Maybe one of them.

Swing tackle talent is poor.

I still want the 411 on his hip surgery. The rumors of a hip replacement seemed unfounded but it coming out of left field is a tad bit worrisome.

Should improve both the run and passing game.

Who said it was a hip replacement? It was just surgery on the hip. Still takes a while to heal and recover from. which he has done.

There was an unsubstantiated rumor during the season it was bone on bone, which would mean hip replacement.

"during the season" was a long time ago. Those rumors should have been squashed by now. It takes willful ignores to keep that rumor going so long. So welcome to being part of the willful ignorance going on.

We're talking about being glad La'el Collins is back? (channel Iverson)

The guy most of you wanted to cut as "he clearly isn't a Tackle"?

Or move back to Guard even though he wasn't very good at Guard?

That La'el Collins?

Ya'll like weathermen, just keep forecasting with no consequences. :lmao:

Call it whatever, but when rumors of the such start it is disconcerting. TCraw had like 3 hip surgeries never a rumor it was anything surprisingly terrible.
