Marcus Maye of the Jets. He played extremely well last season with literally no help.

Maye woule solidify this defense.

Yes the cap situation is tricky to sign him long term but that can be figured out later.

Dallas needs to improve the safety situation.

Dallas trades 2022 1st round pick.
Jets trade Maye and 2022 4th round pick.

give up a 1st round pick and tons of money. not a good idea. too early to make a trade. lets see what the team looks like, what the defense looks like and then if anything make a trade mid season.....

The Cowboys FO is suddenly going to make the decision to spend a 1st rounder and get a S after all these decades of ignoring that position?

Not a snow balls chance in hell.

They actually have a DC that values the position.

Like many fans here, I would love to see the Cowboys value the S position and get some top shelf talent to man that spot. But if this FO has made anything crystal clear, it has to start with the evidence they have given us that they absolutely do not value the safety position.

They won’t draft one with a premium draft pick and they only sign injured or “has been” FAs as band aids. Wish it were different, but the evidence is overwhelming.

1,648 "ET phone home" threads later, some still don't get it. :muttley:

We kinda have to remember that safeties aren't really just strong/free safeties anymore. Their position name has stayed the same... but they have many more roles now.

I think we may actually be doing well in that position though.

Please, make it stop. They aren't trading a first round pick for a safety. That should be clear at this point.
You don’t know that… they might… oh hell, who am I kidding. You’re right, there’s no way they’d bring him in.
