It’s finally here. The games that matter are about to start. Finally, all the offseason stuff- the draft, FA, training camp, preseason games are over…it’s now the start of what really matters.

So as we start the season my fellow Cowboys fans, here’s a quick list of tips to enjoy the season around here:
  • Enjoy the ride. Should be another wild and fun season.
  • Keep your head. Win or lose.
  • Respect your fellow Cowboys fans. Agree or disagree. Period.
  • Your opinions are welcome here. Insults and name calling are not.
  • If you disagree with an opinion, say why you disagree without the venom.
  • To insult and name call is a sign of weakness, not strength.
  • Have a sense of humor.
Now let’s go have a great season! Go Cowboys!!!!!
:clap::clap::clap:

I think some try and turn homer into a negative by assuming they don't know the game and just think with their heart. Some people are fans because they choose to be and they choose optimism and positivity to support their fanhood and nothing wrong with that. I don't do that enough but I do respect that in people.

I don't think you'd ever find a coach or a player to make homer into anything negative.

I do not think a truly objective fan exists......not down deep inside.

Right now, there are fans expecting the Cowboys to win tonight. They are happier than any of us thinking they are going to lose. They may not be happy after the game but that's not what optimistic people are about. Truly is about the journey instead of the destination to them. I lived with one of those for 42 years and it took that damned long for it to rub off.

A pessimist's reward is only being right and it took me almost a lifetime to realize that.

That's a great post! I used to be a pessimistic fan, until I got my own team and then I realized that there wasn't a dang thing I could do to change the outcome of Cowboys games, so I completely change my views.....now I just enjoy the games and wish for the best. As a former player and coach, it pisses me off when fans speak negatively.....that's my issue and not theirs....they have that right.

...CC, right now we have all the right to be optimist. Living on the whims of good draft picks, QB is back and maybe our RB. But you know, its been such disappointment in recent years. Should they lose, we default right back to what we knew all along. You know what I'm talking about.

I moved past the "We're going to the Super Bowl!" mindset long ago and it has made each new season for the Cowboys a fun ride because I have no expectations.

Eventually the Cowboys will win another Super Bowl .. maybe it will be this year or maybe in 25 more years, but eventually they will.

Regardless, I will enjoy the journey because no matter what happened the previous season, every new season is a blank slate.

I agree about the blank slate. I just wish the person who painted this masterpiece wasn't going to paint the next one. :muttley:

The game day thread will explode on the Cowboys first punt or TBs first first down. It’s just what happens.
:lmao:
LMAO, I remember on the old site that the other team got a great return on the opening kickoff but a late flag came out but there were already three threads of woe and misery posted and all had likes. I was shocked because I can't type that fast.

Tonight will be my first night in many moons to be on the site during the game, I ordered a self-shock therapy wand on Amazon.

It’ll happen anyways but I’m hoping we don’t have the 60% overreaction to every play tonight.

Tampa will run for 6 yards on a play and half the gameday thread will freak out like the defense is done lol. Sometimes we act as if the other team can’t gain a yard and we should score everytime on O.
