Big Mac Mike coaching us to a victory with all that's going on? I have zero confidence in this guy as a head coach. Big mouth Cowherd putting it all on Dak. Saying how well other quarterbacks played when their teams had hurt players. One thing the mouth left out were the fact they had far better coaches then Dallas. For me a good to great coach are the ones who win when faced with these sort of problems and adversity. Big Mac Mike barely wins with a full deck. In game situations or halftime adjustments. I just wish we could finally have a head coach that can make a difference. When was the last time we had one of those????? So again what is your level of confidence do you have in Mike McCarthy with all the problems the team is facing now???? Can he be a coach that makes a difference on the sideline with schemes to make up for our weaknesses?

9-8. That's what I thought going into the season and that is where I am staying. If COVID and injuries keep hitting starters then I will revise my prediction but I thought they would lose these first two anyway.

I don't think he's a particularly special coach.

But there's no scheme that will compensate for our DL. I'm amazed at how much people believe that coaches can do magical things with "scheme" that will somehow erase huge talent differences.

Sure, you can do things to protect your sub-par RT against Joey Bosa, but doing those things has consequences: you limit your options and flexibility because you're keeping a TE in to block or you're getting the ball out quicker. You can disguise coverages all you like, but if you can't get any pass pressure, guys are going to get open. You can get blitz-happy but that's a high-risk strategy, especially if you don't have the DBs to hold up on the back end.

I don't trust him at all. He lost us a handful of games last year with some coaching decisions that were questionable at best. It seemed like Garrett was wearing a Fat Mike suit. Most fans would have made better decisions in those situations, even counting the children and idiots.

That said, it's a new season. And it's just been one game. My confidence in winning is low, but it's because of the injured players, not said fat coach.

9-8 but win the division. Dak the best QB in that weak division.

I think he's fine. We went toe to toe with the defending world champions, in their house, the home opener, and it came down to a last second field goal in a game many predicted us to get blown out in.

I have confidence. I think it'll be fine.

Same record we’d have if any other coach was here. 8-9…9-8. Get use to it.

Its a long season, and only been 1 game and not throwing in the white flag and rolling belly side up yet.
We need to beat the Chargers in their house this Sunday.
Worry about week three when we need to worry about week three.

I have confidence Cowboys can go out and win this game, but in the end it falls to them to go out and execute. Really not concerned about emotional state of other fans. I will not join some pity party

Would probably prefer Quinn at this stage, but Quinn doesnt knock me over as a hand picked, comfort level, yes man Jerry type.

Moore still has more learning to do at his current job imo.

So I guess they are in a holding pattern until McCarthy's tenure either plays itself out, he gets fired or one of the coordinators leaves/is promoted.

And I'm not a McCarthy fan by any stretch.

The Chargers have a good defense, but it's not the ultra run stopper that the Bucs have. We'll be able to run on this team, and we should run on this team.

It is not a matter of my level of confidence but that of his players. One thing for sure, hard to find a present NFL HC with more experience dealing with backup players and injuries. He spent a great deal of his time in GB working with a makeshift OL and in one playoff game started 5 OG's on the OL and won the game.

The problems on the D side are different. That was an unknown D with all of the starters and last week with the starters had no pass rush.

The challenge he and Quinn are facing is what to do with the run D now that Lawrence, the best run stopper on the DL, is out? It is one thing not to have a pass rush but that and a soft run D is exactly what they had last season. Throw is a questionable secondary and this has become all about how many points can they score.
