You moved back your win expectation after the Cowboys beat a very good team on the road?

People on this forum are ridiculous.
Are they? Me personally, I we'll let the season play out rather than make a prediction but my question:
Do you feel better or worse about our defense after this week?

Edit: my answer would be worse, but that comes with an asterisk because we see what a great player Parsons is, and guys like Malik, Kearse, Kazee give us hope so I think we shouldn't be so quick to make that prediction

I have no expectations. I take it game by game.

The team has enough talent to win most games but they are also stupid enough to lose any game. It will be a wild season.

Bwahahahaha! The chargers should have won that game but they lost it, and the refs hosed them worse than us. Roger will make sure that doesn't happen again.
Fair enough. I choose to enjoy this week.
We all thought the team would get blown out by Tampa.
Didn't happen.
Many of us thought we'd be 0-2 right now with the DE's being out, et al.
Didn't happen.

I'm just going to enjoy and see what next week hands us.

Because the NFL is always a big bag of What The Heck?! every time.

I see a lot of threads and posts that just seem to have unrealistic expectations for this team. I think we all need to realize what we should be hoping for from this team this season.

We all know that the defense isn't very good. We all know that Dak isn't Patrick Mahomes. We all know that Zeke isn't as explosive as he once was. The offensive line is not the top-5 unit that it once was. Add whatever you want to this list.

All of this is true and I have some of the same frustrations, but we need to realize some things. Does Dak need to go 37-43 for 465 yards and 4 touchdowns every game to be good enough for us to not rip his performances apart? Does the defense has to suddenly become the '85 Bears for us to have a chance? Does Zeke need to be Emmitt Smith for us to appreciate when he does something good? I would answer these with a resounding no. We just played (and won) a hard fought game against a good Chargers team. We all should also know by now that right now this is not a championship roster and expecting a Superbowl this season is an unreasonable expectation to have. Despite all of this, myself and a lot of fans feel like if this team can find a way to win the division and make the playoffs on a hot streak, who knows what could happen? This season is going to have ups and downs because this roster IS deeply flawed and it shows, but we have enough talent to make some noise. This was an ugly win, but even the best teams have to win ugly in the NFL. It is a tough league filled with great teams. Style points don't count and I will take today's result over last week's any day. Now I would recommend everyone enjoy the win, because they have been few and far between for the last few years.

8 wins if were lucky........like today.....

Looking at the schedule the next 7 weeks should be really fun. The last part of the season could be pretty rough. Hopefully they win enough down the stretch to get into the playoffs. I think 10 or 11 wins because I'm not sure about the defense yet and I think the OL is still going to be a liability at times.

Another thing we should realize is that the extra game in the season along with the 7th playoff spot now in either conference will likely play to our advantage. We are probably good enough to remain favorites in the division since NY, Philly, and Washington haven't really shown us a reason to think otherwise however, we will definitely be in play for one of the 3 wild card positions. This team should be able to at least make the playoffs. If we continue to improve and get some players back from injury we should be a team no one really wants to play in January.

I like what I see on offense. Though Moore still has some huge brain farts.

I am not liking what I see on defense, though they do seem somewhat better. As to the players actually playing and reacting, and not thinking and being confused. however there are still way too many stupid plays and wide open receivers. I know they need to gel some yet. And were missing both starting DE's. But still too many mental errors.

Just dumb plays still, especially that penalty on the punt.

So I do not know what to expect yet. I did expect them to compete and should win the division. But now I need to see them a few more games.
Much will spend how they look and play the Eagles in the next game.

And I call it like I see it. If you don’t see the significance of winning a game like that on the road, you don’t know football.

A win is a win, but we got out-coached at the end. Got a good break and made the field goal at the end. We were never in charge of the game and for the yardage we had running, this shouldn't have been close. Just a realist. I hope we win every game, but expect what I have seen for a quarter century.

How could I feel worse about our D when we only gave up 17 points to the Chargers?

I'm just curious why the thread was deleted stating the Chargers got robbed with that huge call late. If that's not telling you something I don't know what else is. You can't say we got a break from the refs now?

Expect whatever you expect. It’s absurd to roll back a win win expectation after a win like that. Period. It’s reactionary nonsense.
