Yes so it 4th and 10 better? fact is roughing carries automatic 1st down so by your reason no time would be the right time. If that is how some feel that is fine, keep things close to the vest avoid any risk. Myself I like seeing some aggression on special teams.
When was the last time we blocked a punt? Yes I would take the ball back considering we don't do it with any consistency at all and put the game on the line for a few yards.

I don't recall going for it many times in recent History, I recall Jimmy special teams doing it and seen Charlie Waters do it a number of times under Landry.

You really think we haven't been trying along the way? The risk vs reward isn't there unless the opp is within their own 5 due to the punter not having enough standard room to punt. There are times it makes sense, that was definitely not one.

Why because you like seeing Punters pin us back inside our on 10?
No but when they are backed up it can lead to direct points. Not get our offense in better field position. When defense or special teams score points your odds of winning jump tremendously. More so than gaining 40 yards of field position

I like block punt attempts NEVER unless we're up a lot or down a lot. I never like it in a close game. The risk is too high and the chance of it actually happening is too low to take on that risk.

I'll add, I also don't like bringing kick offs out of the end zone. We rarely get back to the 25, let alone beyond it, and when we do we usually get called for a penalty and start even further back than we would've if we just stayed in the end zone.

That's just my opinion.

I think we should do a straw poll online before every punt so we can vote on the punt block attempts. Though, I can't say I would ever vote for wiping out the punter in an attempted block.

No we have not gone for block punts very often. Those who want to play it safe that fine, I don't have issue of going after a punt from time to time, I know that more times than not the call tends to be running into the punter

I have no issue with you having an opinion. That was not the time, when is it? your pretty much saying never go for blocks. I don't agree with it

To be 100% and perfectly clear, I’m not saying that whatsoever.

I don't either, but not when it can cost us the game. Hennessy already outlined when and where the block punt makes sense. It was more important to get the ball back then hoping for better field position.

That is fine, I can respect your view. I tend to agree more about what you said returning kickoffs given how often flags are thrown on kick returns. In terms of going for blocked punts only rule I have is never do it when their is 5 yards or less just for the simple fact vast majority of calls tend to be running into not roughing. One thing overlooked in my view it was a blown call from the ref and should have been holding on LA

Dallas has played close to the vest and scared for years and what the hell has that gotten us? Could taking a risk hurt us? yeah in the end it cost us 3 points as Chargers only managed to get in FG range to make it 14 to 14.

And I wish people would stop trying to excuse an inexcusable blunder.

There’s a reason why it’s such a topic of conversation, because it’s a moronic decision that people are openly and rightly questioning.

It is inexcusable to you. You call it a blunder? I don't think it was. If you call agreeing with the call as making excuses then I disagree just a difference of views. I know people want to think there is only 1 right way and any other view is just wrong that again is untrue nor is it an excuse. . I'm not making excuse and yes I expect Dallas will go after punts in the future.
