I didn’t say we haven’t had good drafts, but better than the ones you mentioned?
Well, we don't know until it's over, i will concede that.
Let me rephrase.
This draft , I believe, has impacted the following season more than any other. That is to say, rookie contributions may exceed those of any previous season.
Can anyone recall a year when the rookies contributed more for their teams?
The season isn't even one fourth completed and we have almost an entire defensive line of rookies with sacks. This is just teh beginning, Our rookie CB's have yet to contribute.
In one offseason, it seems, the Cowboys have successfully fixed the two most glaring weaknesses in their defense. That is and turnovers
The Dirty Dozen? Really? Much too soon for talk like that.
Of the Dirty Dozen, six had sustained careers of six years or more. There were two offensive linemen, three LB's and one DT. Two rookies started 3 or more games
Taking another look at the 2005 draft, six had sustained careers of six years or more. there were three defensive linemen, two linebackers and a RB. Three of those rookies started 3 or more games.
Looking at this current rookie crop, two rookies have started 3 or more games a quarter of the way through the season. I project at least one more starter from this years draft. So, it may be early but all indications are, it's a relevant conversation.
I certainly can't remember a year when a rookie class dominated a squad in the way this year's defensive line is being manned.
