early talk when injuries happened was that Watkins would be out longer than Armstrong. Glad that it looks like Anae will be back at DE rotation with Armstrong still out.

i didn't expect any of the injury related guys until after the bye week ..at the very least.

Watkins was playing decent before the injury. Players tend to heal faster when the backups are doing just as well or better. Watkins is not only fighting for playing time but also his roster spot.

Watkins is competing with Urban, Gallimore, Bohanna, Hamilton, and Faoliu. Both Hamilton and Faoliu got a decent amount of snaps against Carolina.

Need Watkins back in the middle before needing Anae back as. pass rusher. Golston and Gregory and those guys played well last game. So I think against the NYG, we need a little more run support. As Barkley is starting to get his legs back.
However, he seems to get more yards on the outside than the inside. So they will need to scheme for that.

Unless Garrett tries to fool us.

Watkins would have to be totally Dontario Poe like right this immediate now for him to be totally off the roster.

It's be one thing if you're talking immediate competition for his starting role, ala Urban or even Gallimore, if Cowboys were considering tandem starting
duo of a Osa and Gallimore (when he returns to form) ...but Watkins fighting for
his roster spot ?

- Hamilton or Faoliu, likely got such playing time, because we really needed to
keep other front line guys fresh, and less worn as possible.
That changes once Gallimore is due to come back, ..and who knows if Hill is ready to be in the mix.

No, just forgot about him, because he’s never done DIDDLY! Let’s HOPE Joseph develops. Wright, also. My point remains…we’re growing as a defense, getting takeaways, WITHOUT a boatload of players. I’m optimistic!
