I wonder if the Giants will sign him this week seeing as we’re playing them Sunday…. I seem to recall they’ve done similar a couple of times previously.

This is the perfect thread to update one's 'ignore' list. Easy to spot folks I wouldn't trust to tell me if the sun was shining.

To all the folks that think it's funny, I'd give $100 to see you get canned from your job and watch your co-workers laugh while you cleaned out your desk/locker.

Good lord.......

He made over $30 million and is gonna be fine.
Lighten up. Take a pill.

Once again, people that threaten others with the ignore button ARE THE LAMEST.

Use the ignore feature if you want to, but don’t posture and tell everyone how you’re gonna do it, luulz

That so many of you are focused on the money and thinking somehow JS's paycheck is an entitlement to laugh at the man says so much. I have no problem with the move, I have a problem with people rejoicing at another's failure. It's a pathetic, loser's mentality and a poor excuse for bad behavior.

Thanks for the sanctimony.

You can exit the thread.

I hate this move. He's looked like a serviceable starter this year and without him, they're leaning on two rookies, one of which thst hasn't played any meaningful snaps against starting defenses, a guy that can't stay healthy in LVE, a converted safety, a non-converted safety, and a couple of guys that are total question marks in Gifford and Bernard.

This defense has been hot. Why make the move now? The team is primed to make a run and they cut quality depth 4 1/2 weeks into the season? We have no clue if Cox can play. We have no clue if Neal can stay healthy at his new position or hold up against the wear and tear of a 17 game season. Likewise for LVE and truthfully, he hasn't looked good this year. Kearse is your starting SS and I'm seeing him penciled in at nickel LB. That's an issue!

Rejoice all you want. I didn't think he would last till day 5 of the new league year but to cut him now is a dangerous game that potentially affects team chemistry and weakens the depth chart.

Exactly. This would make sense after benching Jaylon and then putting Cox on the field and seeing that Cox is tearing it up, but making contractual moves in a possible superbowl year is questionable. I'm not the hugest fan of Jaylon on field, but we don't for sure know if the guys behind him are better, and if anyone gets injured, we're in trouble... and with LVE, he very well could get injured again. I'm also wondering what kind of message this sends to the locker room after a huge win, one of the guys gets the axe. Maybe they are trying to bring it back to the 'Jimmy Johnson days' in that if you underperform, you get cut, but this cutting seems completely out of the blue.

Another issue is you potentially strengthen a rival who needs to shore up on LBs

I have to see the details. Maybe this is a case of a guy being unwilling to accept his role and mutual send off. He still gets paid and a chance to be first option somewhere else

In all ways meaningful #9 is broken

Broken Power Player. Can't really drive off that foot; even struggled with blocking sleds in camp. And he's never been able to overpower blockers.

Broken Finesse Player. He had elite raw speed but now it takes him forever to get up to speed. And he can't change direction.

It's better for the defense that he's gone.

I think this is a Stephen Jones move. He hasn't got the same loyalty to Jaylon that Jerry has. He realises the effect on next year's salary cap if Jaylon got injured. I doubt any of the coaching staff would make a defence for Jaylon so they would be happy to go along with it.
Don't think DQ is behind this.
