Yeah there has to be something more right? This is unlike the Jones’s.

I suspect Jaylon might have started complaining about not getting the reps he felt he had coming. Just a guess on my part, though. Otherwise, perhaps the staff followed his advice and started reading the tape and found it to be wanting. Maybe Jaylon shouldn't have said that?!
Anyhow, I'd loved to have been a fly on the wall to hear what Jerry told him when he was dismissed. :D
There must have been lots of uh's, er's and ah's involved, I'll betcha! ;)
Also, I wonder if there's another LB in line to get. o_O

That so many of you are focused on the money and thinking somehow JS's paycheck is an entitlement to laugh at the man says so much. I have no problem with the move, I have a problem with people rejoicing at another's failure. It's a pathetic, loser's mentality and a poor excuse for bad behavior.

This is good for the team. He's been terrible. You're being ridiculous.

Loser's mentality? Pathetic? Wow.

Clearly, it's a winner's mentality. Many have been frustrated with the defense
seemingly playing with only 10 while he's on the field.
There will be rejoicing! There will be celebration! Smoke'm if ya got'em!

We can't celebrate improving our team!?!
No thanks. I will not comply.

People talk about his lack of awareness, his clueless grandstanding, and his business crap but for me it truly boiled down to this: He could not plant and drive anymore. I don't know if his knee regressed or it was just in his head, but he could not plant and change direction quickly (which is a LB job requirement) and he couldn't drive through people (which is why he was washed out of plays anytime someone, ANYONE, blocked him).

Seeing him take 5 or 6 steps in a semi-circle to change direction was excruciating! I never wondered why he was forever chasing after guys...he had no plant-and-move-opposite ability.

Thank you so much for saying this. I have been saying same for way too long. Today is a good day!

I wonder what happened. Can it be he was just setting a bad example making so much with no production. I guess I’ll watch the news next week to see if anything comes out.

Might be a Quinn thing. He may have said something sooner that he wants his guys (Parsons/Neal/Cox). Now he has credibility, might as well let him go so he can leave and start somewhere else. I watch every game twice and i focus on Smith and I see how bad he is. So im sure Quinn pointed that out quickly.

I won't lie, thought this would come in pre-season. Especially considering the home runs they hit in the draft with Parsons and Cox. Then you add in Neal and

You hit on the key here: Coop's continued flirtation with injury(s)......I love him when healthy but he gets nicked up quite a bit. To say Gallup is a very good replacement for Coop is fair. As GOOD as Coop? No, but very capable. They won't shop MG and we'll probably lose him next year but Wilson is showing enough to be a good #3 at this point.

I like that were getting more Wilson for now. And they should talk to both receivers in the off-season about extending but Gallup may be too expensive. Then again Schuster didn't have much of a market last year and probably not next year either so we will see.

The reaction from the average fans is hilarious. A lot of people thought Jaylon was a good LB and they can't believe it. These are the same fans that Jerry has suckered for the last 25 years
This X 10000

I can't have a REAL football conversation with people that thought he was a good player. But "these people" have made Jerry and his family RICH for generations to come!

You immediately know what kind of "fan" you are dealing with, when they start talking positively about this guys play.

And his issues were way more than physical. He could not anticipate ANYTHING...which only made him his physical limitations more glaring once he realized how the play was unfolding. Even being injured, had he been a mental giant...he could've survived in this league. He is literally just running around doing NOTHING out there. And then drawing attention to himself by raising his hand in victory after every play!

I think losing out to a tackling dummy 3 times in preseason added to his misery.
It probably took something that elementary for Jerry to wake up. Clearly, a REAL GM could see his play sucked....but any Tom, Dick and Harry off the street would be convinced after that tackling dummy washed him 3 times in a row.

Keeping him on the roster had to make it harder and harder for the coaches ever film session. He simply could not do BASIC things you need a LBer do. Fundamental things. And if you cannot hit the blocking sled...forget the NFL...heck forget Div 1 college football. You are a walk on at a D3 program if you cannot hit a blocking sled. Edit: you are the team manager!

So why wouldn't we trade him?
Please don't say he was untradable.

Although we knew he was overrated, he was one of the league's top tacklers on paper.
I'd think we could get something.

Can we assume he was butthurt over losing time?
Oh God! Oh God!

I at least admire you're courage of conviction.

I admire that you are admitting that if YOU were running a team, you would take on his contract and give up something (even if it is a conditional 7th rounder or a 3 pack of sausage McGriddles with 3 salt packets on the side)

Just glad you are not hiding the fact that YOU think he has value
