I am shocked, but only that they actually pulled the trigger and that they did it now. But I'm not at all shocked that it happened.
He just couldn't get back to where he needed to be. They brought in several new guys who are already better or are going to be. Neal, Parsons, Cox and even LVE came after him and was better.
I know they were trying to trade him but couldn't get what they were hoping for and at some point, if you're just going to release him anyway, I would think you'd be willing to take anything, that anyone would be willing to give you, right? So to me it's very telling when you didn't anything at all in return, not a mid-rd pick, not a lessor player, not even get a 7th rd draft pick for a guy who was a 2nd rd pick, is still very young, a team captain, the teams leading tackler the past 2 years and a pro bowler just 2 seasons ago. That says all you need to know about the situation right there IMHO.
The sad part is he is such a great guy off the field and a team leader. He will be missed by many in that locker room. I'm sure Jerry is curled up on his yacht crying.
Good luck Jaylon, thanks for the time. May God open a new door for you.
