Also, I barely knew about this board before finding out the forum had been closed. I cannot tell how many members came over from there. Don't worry, people will convict themselves with their statements.
I was joking with my comment, and so was the person to whom I was responding. (At least he was partly joking)

There are quite a few people who came over from the old "Official" forum. We refer to it as The Mass Exodus.

I get thinking about preserving an asset by trading Gallup before he leaves as a free agent. That said, being an elite team is a rare and valuable thing. Dallas is closer to the top of the pile than the bottom of it. As others have said, worry about having the best team possible this year and worry about next year then.

If Dallas could get an elite CB in his prime for Gallup plus a pick, I would do it. Outside of that, trading him for a future 2nd round pick or something seems foolish.

No need for him unless you plan cut cooper off-season. I rather have cooper he plays hurt and is a proven #1 - I honestly don’t think gallop is a 1 and maybe not even a #2. If I can get a 2nd or a stud cb/dl player I gotta trade gallop now. Don’t keep him without plan - Wilson can be our #3.

Sounds great until one of the other three gets injured. You're not getting a defensive "stud" for half a season of Gallup coming off an injury, anyway.

Better off keeping him, getting the comp pick, then drafting another one in the middle of next year's draft.

I didn't read all eight pages, so maybe it's already been discussed, but what's the most that a team has ever gotten in return for a non-elite(but good) WR on his contract year. A 2nd round pick for him seems like it would only work in a video game, and you'd probably have to turn off the setting that makes the trade reasonable. We might be able to get a player that is in a similar scenario, with a big pay day looming, but we're not going to get a talented player with years of control left unless he's massively overpaid already.

Why would we trade Gallup unless we are getting back a piece that can help us win a championship? He only played less than a half, but we saw how Dak went to him over and over in the Tampa game when he was in single coverage and he had that TD catch that was thrown out of bounds that would have been huge. Him playing alongside with both Lamb and Cooper makes us incredibly difficult to stop and makes it almost impossible for defenses to put 8 or 9 in the box against us. I like Wilson but he isn't in Gallup's league. Maybe we could get a 2nd rounder but we probably get a 4th as a comp pick and have the player all year. Also, I found it ironic to call Cooper a guy who plays hurt. I get what he is doing right now and am not saying his reputation was fair but he has been known as a guy that takes himself out and doesn't play with injuries or even when tired. He does seem like a different guy this year though who wants to prove himself and is even more outspoken. We have a legit #1 in Lamb. If we have to choose, do we want to spend $20M in cap space a year on another #1 or save some money with a #2 who can stretch the field and use that money to bring in a FA since we still have holes elsewhere. I'm torn on which way I think we should go but don't think keeping all 3 is an option after this year. For this year though, I'm keeping all 3 unless someone knocks us out with an offer.

Only trade I can think of off the top that makes a modicum of sense is some sort of draft pick package deal + Gallup to the Jets for Q. Williams.

A good rule of thumb around here is to:
1- never expect a member with Rowdy as an avatar to be even remotely
football smart
Maybe for you!
Many members don't know how to change their avatar nor care on changing it. I can pick out at least 10 members who are very football smart w/a Rowdy avatar. But not ignorant enough to do so. SMH
Another dumb thread. Can't even spell his name correctly. OP is completely wrong.
That's unfair. This is a family forum meaning all ages post in here. Some folks can't spell being they may be posting from overseas or don't speak English let alone write in English. People are so cruel. Too many forum spelling cops in here.

A lot of people felt it was funny and somewhat accurate.
You cut out two thirds of my comment, which included that
there are exceptions.

And now you're defending poor spelling. Look, it says their name
right on the back of their jerseys. You think people overseas can't spell.
Are they blind too?

I guarantee you there are many here in the States who think
"Michael Irving and Jason Whitten" played in Dallas. Your argument is weak.

The world is a hard place. Being offended over every little thing can make it
harder for you. Relax.

Everyone’s list would be different, but I see at least 12 that I’d like to keep:

LVE, Connor Williams, Randy Gregory, Keanu Neal, Michael Gallup, Dorance Armstrong, Dalton Schultz, Cedric Wilson, Luke Gifford, Jayron Kearse, Noah Brown, Malik Hooker

I don't understand why people are always talking about trading players. Teams need depth. What happens when Gallup returns and another receiver misses games.
