Dak was better than Romo from day one. Romo could never lead a team to 13-3 his first year.

People forget Romo was a turn over machine his first few years. Didn't he throw 5 INTs against Buffalo once?

Nope Romo was painful to watch for a decade. I couldnt wait for him to be gone. Just proves I know what im talking about. Carry on tho

I'll be honest, in 2016 Dak was a welcome replacement since he rarely was reckless with the ball. You didn't have to hold your breath every time he threw the ball. With Tony, good God!

But I am still a big Romo fan. This year is the only year I think Dak not only played as well as Tony, but surpassed him. IMO he's a Romo without the turnovers. This is probably our best Cowboys team since 2007. And Romo was really erratic that year. Prescott, even in the worst of times never embarrassed himself. He took sacks over turning the ball over. As much as I have been his critic, he now has my full support. The dude can play.

anyone catch that?:omg:
Troy said Dak wants to win desperately. His drive and hard work is infectious. But most importantly he said that the Cowboys will remain a contender with Dak playing at this level.

I missed the part where Troy said Dak is or was better than Romo.

I loved Romo, but Dak is the leader that Romo never did become.

Romo had “his guys”. Everyone respects and connects with Dak.

Dak is a leader of men, and he’s playing as efficiently as Romo ever did.
Damn! Nothing else to add. That’s perfect.

I was pretty surprised myself to have the same thought. Right now I'd take Dak over prime Romo. Hes a winner, a leader and a hell of a QB, who continues to get better. I loved Romo, but he just couldn't get it done. Alot of the blame goes to the front office for wasting his career without an oline, run game or defense. The years we had it all he was either hurt or we were simply heart broken.

Daks leadership and the buy in he gets from his teammates put him over the top for me.

No he wasn't.
And I'm not even sure if right now he is as good as Romo in his prime.
To Dak's credit, that is now a conversation.

But what are you talking about....better from day one?
Are you saying Dak on day one was better than Romo ever was?

But whatever.
Looking forward to Dak leading the Cowboys and this stacked offense to a Super Bowl.
It's not out of the question

Do y'all ever get tired of these debates? Because only one is QB1 for this team right now. The other is enjoying his retirement.

It's a fun debate, but it certainly doesn't merit getting butt hurt over. Nonetheless I'm sure some will.

Romo benefited from being the shiniest of the turds in a dysfunctional franchise. I don't think on most other teams, he rises above 2 on the depth chart that early in his career. I don't think he is afforded the same patience for his boneheaded interceptions and mistakes that cost us games.

and won the game

Thanks for reminding us that because of his undisciplined play Romo was always putting his team down early, then having to crap out a 4th quarter comeback. He could get away with it from September to October, but not November to December.

I tried to reach Romo on the Corona hot line for comments. He did advice that Troy was squeezing the lime in his bottle for making that comment.

I disagree, Dak never looked this good with Jason Garrett. Tony Romo had to carry his team and the coaches. Let's not forget Tony went from Sean Payton/Bill Parcells to Jason Garret without a playbook.
