Hopefully this a wee bit gamesmanship from McCarthy, and Tyron is getting a routine check-up on the surgery. If Tyron is out, who do you want at LT...Ty or Knight? I still feel Dallas will this either way.

Yep I guess I'm a part of that crowd.

Not a qualified o line coach or scout. Just a regular Joe who watches a little extra film and has regular opinons as most here do.

I 'fessed up on Steele while he has now proven as a serviceable OT.

I will still hold my own personal beliefs on the importance of an elite left tackle being 1A to only the QB position on how his performance impacts team wins.

Now I will root like he** that Philbin can turn Ball into Tyron Smith part II in time as to not mess up how well this whole offense is currently performing.

That is, as some others have stated, this IS NOT anything major.

But, Im a skeptic on this team's historically sketchy injury reporting to the public though.

But that's just me.

When we hear "neck" and "Tyron Smith" it's never good, but we could be only assuming this is related to his offseason surgery and past issues. This could be a completely unrelated thing or even a scheduled follow up as others have suggested.

He might have just gotten a stinger in practice today and is having it checked out just to be safe. Not going to panic.....yet.

It sucks. Hopefully he’s not lost for an extended period. But it’s nice to have faith in a coaching staff to find a solution. I’d like to see him out there, but I also think the Cowboys have done a formidable job juggling the Oline and developing those guys you didn’t think could be developed. It’s looking like finding a new LT might be on the agenda sooner rather than later!

After seeming SO healthy and playing SO well the first few weeks of the season, if this just popped up again out of nowhere, I would have to think that would give everyone involved serious long term concerns about the continuance of Tyron's career.

That doesn't sound good at all. Remember the Cowboys weren't worried from the start about Dak's shoulder in camp and that was for good reason. The fact they aren't anywhere near as confident in Tyron means we just might be looking at our first major crisis of 2021.

Unless the MRI is severe they probably roll him out this week then give him 2 weeks during the upcoming bye to manage/rehab it.

Or you can give him almost a full 3 weeks of rest starting this week, which hopefully pays some dividends in helping him finish the season.

So they’ll day to day him. Then he will sit Sunday and rest. Then they IR him after the bye lol
