It’s almost like us posters who said over and over again that Dak was consistently getting better and still improving as a player, may have been right.

And then there are also people who wanted to let that consistently improving QB walk, so they could start over again with an unproven rookie who may end up sucking.

With some "fans" patients, we could have Herbert and they would have said to let him walk after stinking it up against the Ravens.

Never mind that Herbert may be the best young QB in the NFL right now, he isn't perfect therefore HE SUCKS.

Wanted him to be a finished product. They said he hit his ceiling in 2016….

This is the new take of Daks haters. So now they want us to believe he’s just NOW getting good. It’s to cover their own silly takes rather than simply admitting they were wrong.

There could be an argument made that he was good before and is now getting great. To say that he's just now getting good? Crazy.

I would agree. He's definitely more fundamentally sound then he was coming into the league. He's always been a gamer. Even in college. For whatever reason he's just always been doubted. I mean how many times have we seen the David Carr video posted on here to prove he can't throw the football lol?

Didn’t you say He reaches his ceiling?

He’s playing better than I thought he could. I didn’t see him as a player that could carry a team and right now he has carried this team when they needed it.

Kellen Moore’s playcall have helped a ton but Dak has always been the guy who gets carried and this season from game 1 he’s changed that past reality about his game.

You didn’t answer the question. Did you. Or did you not say he reached his ceiling ?

Coaching helps too Catch. Say what you will about McCarthy. But him letting Dak and Kellen cook is way better than Garrett.

Garrett’s bland playcalling held a lot of Cowboys teams back.

His stone age offense and just letting the other team know what we are doing is why I think 10 years of Garrett is the worst thing Jerry Jones ever did as the owner of this team.

That statement was true a year ago.

We’ve never seen this version of Dak.

We’re on a Cowboys message board so of course homers will homer but those who live in reality are surprised because Dak has never looked this good and no amount homring some of you have done in the past changes that.

I mean...okay, Dak didn't peak at age 26. Aaron Rodgers didn't play consistently until 25. Romo didn't until 26. Brees was a bust heading into 2004 at age 25 and Brady was 24 during his magical 2001 season. So yea, Dak got better, but there was no reason to think he wouldn't continue to get better. I guess the question is, how better did he get? We'll throw out last year considering he only played in 5 games, but let's compare 2019 to 2021

8.2 YPA in 2019 vs 8.4 in 2021
1.8% INT rate in 2019 vs 1.9% in 2021
3.7% Sack Rate in 2019 vs 3.6% in 2021
5% TD Rate in 2019 vs 7.4% in 2021

He was just about as efficient in 2019 as he is now, there's been improvement, but not as much as many are trying to make it seem.

Now where he's *a lot* better is completion percentage, which jumped from 65% to 73%. But just to give this some context, that 65% was good enough for 13th and a mere 2% increase would jump him to 7th place. There's just a lot of players in the 67%-65% range. Now this year, he's behind only Kyler Murray by 0.7%. Dak losing 2% would still have him sitting at 4th overall. So all in all, he's improved here, but he was already very good in this area.
