Great post, but one could argue missing DLaw, Bossman Fat, Gallimore are a bigger issue than La’el and Gallup.. oh and Jaylon smith falling off a cliff.
The defense has potential to be better - I don’t think the offense could get any better than what it is, which is crazy to say. A team that averages 35+ ppg is a tough team to beat, but you know the old saying.. “defense wins championships”. We can’t rely on Trevon getting a pick every game (although that would be nice, especially for my madden 50/50 Cowboys theme team lol)
Thank you and you are right. I was only talking offensively here and clearly the largest improvements will be defensively.
DLaw will take a few more weeks and hopefully he’s healed right when he comes back. That will only make Gregory better and of course the secondary improves just from pass rush.
Gallimore will also give more penetration up the middle but hopefully help in the run game.
Bossman, it would be nice to see what he can do and now Donovan Wilson is back and will start playing more should be a help at SS as well. Hooker is starting to come into his own now.
I know Wilson has played well but you will see the dynamic difference between Gallup and Wilson. Don’t discount Collins nastiness and physicality at RT despite Steele playing well. That physicality wears on the right side of a teams defense.
Also that extra half second in pass protection is what big plays are all about.
