Still holding onto Cooper in the offseason?

So you have to sign him again for whatever that costs plus the 20 mil, or let him walk with 20 mil in dead cap

We may very well move on from Cooper but signing Gallup defeats the point of moving on from Cooper because you don’t save very much money

Yes, you do. Gallup can be had for $10 mil/season, opposed to Cooper's $20 mil/season. Easy economics business decision.

Fans have to understand that because of our success people are going to be coming after our guys in FA. Shultz, Gregory, Kazee, ect...ect......

LVE is probably gone too. We have to replace or resign all these guys. Cooper is a luxury we no longer can afford. A team shouldnt have to score 34 points per game to win in this league. With the run game we have we can still be great in the passing game with Shultz, Lamb, and Gallup. Heck we have been doing it since Gallup went down and that is with Cooper limping around and not contributing much during that time.

Gregory is a must the way he is playing. I just hope he doenst want some 18 million or some crazy number.

You get rid of one contract only to replace it with another.
I'm a big believer of the contract/efficiency thought, but Coop has taken this offense to upper levels where they weren't remotely attaining without him.

I dont see Gallup signing for 10 million. but the injury issues certainly wont help him. I see 13-15M range for Gallup.

But thats still a 9-7 million dollar savings and we can back load the agreement.

Personally I dont Jones letting Cooper walk. His ego couldnt handle it.

Cooper though we could probably trade. I dont see Gallup being tradeable unless its this year and that opportunity is pretty much out the window.

Yes. Problem is many don't want to let go of Cooper, even if he is too costly to keep.

Cooper supporters are posting based on emotions, not business decisions.

Thats before we had Lamb buddy. Lamb makes Cooper a luxury and no longer a necessity.

You have to think of things like a GM and balancing the salary cap. If you are not thinking on those strict terms then you will never see why its important to be frugal.

But that would only work if a guy fell to you in the draft who can replace him

I would rather have Gallup for 7 million less. Cooper is brittle and not getting any younger.

Based on results of how the offense works and opposing D's react to the team with him rather than without him.

well, on an average pay year basis he would cost close to Cooper....and we can restructure cooper to open up cap space....I don't think the cap space is necessarily an issue.

so that's why I asked which combination is better....
