Is Collins going to be traded?

Nope. He's under contract next year and Connor Williams isn't. La'el is our new LG next year. By letting Connor walk and with La'el under contract, we will get to keep Shultz. Gallup is probably gone but Wilson will step in like he is doing this season. Give Jerry and his staff some credit for building up this team with some depth.

Dude Wilson is gone. He's made so much money the last two months. Probably went from 2 million to 25.

I would be absolutely shocked if Collins was traded. Depth on the Oline is an absolute must. Could he possibly be traded after the season is over? I guess it’s possible but not probable. I assume he didn’t play tonight because he hasn’t played in 5 weeks and the staff wants to work him back in a little slowly.

Yep, with his 4th and 4 catch and the 75 yarder tonight he's making at least 5-10 million the next couple seasons. Good for him. He deserves it.

Most GMs are smart. NO WAY some GM will sign Wilson for 25 million a year. They KNOW it's the system that's making him look good. Kinda like Alvin Harper going to the Bucs. Alvin didn't do squat with the Bucs.

But, let's say your right. I didn't know Wilson is a FA. Then we keep Gallup because with him being injured this year I don't see anyone throwing big time money at him since Wilson is doing just as good as him. Most GMs know it's the system we have. I doubt Wilson or Gallup succeed at,... say, Detroit. I don't see either of them getting Cooper type money. We keep one for sure. Which one would you prefer?

I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean $25 mil per year. LOL. There isn’t a WR in the league that makes that.

I'm not so sure we will be able to afford Wilson after this season.

It’s strange to rest a pro bowl tackle in his 20s. Maybe there’s a chance he’s traded and they want to keep him healthy.
His base salary is 1.1m this year, his dead cap hit would be 20m. Trading now wouldn’t be feasible. Also, he’s played 1 out of the last 22 games, his trade value would be at a low point. He’s got to get back in playing shape before they can play him. Next year his BASE jumps to 10m and his dead cap hit drops to 13. Good chance he gets traded during the off-season but it’s unlikely now!

Coaching power move.

No way they trade him. He’s skilled and plays one of the most important positions in the league but if you’re going to bench Dak and tell the team you have confidence in them to still win, benching a guy who messed around and coat himself five games, seems to be the right move.

According to some of the so-called "insiders," La'el Collins was relegated to the doghouse by the Cowboys FO for his foul incident recently. I tend to doubt he'll be traded, since his significant value to the team will surely be taken into consideration. He is highly valued at both RT and LG on offense. Of course, anything is possible, although, there are others who may be considered as "trade bait," also. Connor Williams and Michael Gallup quickly come to mind. It wouldn't be surprising if a capable CB, LB or DT were to be a Cowboys' desired target.

No, Steele is a free agent. It would be smarter to showcase & trade Steele. Only person I’d trade La’el for is Derwin James and that’s not going to happen.

Collins is an enigma. We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes with this guy. We KNOW he can play. What we don’t know is whether the team is fed up with him and to what degree.

Collins is “worth” a first round pick in terms of ability. A contender that would be picking late in the first round who really needs OL help might be willing to give up a first round pick for Collins. It’s the Amari trade in reverse.

I would be trading away Williams if I could get a 3rd round pick as compensation for him, and I would do it yesterday.
