Nashon Wright = Leon Lett

Just as Leon Lett took the wind out of our sails on Thanksgiving in 1993, Nashon Wright did the same thing on that punt. We were about to get momentum, and Wright touches it rather than letting the ball go.
Not quite the same, but similar.
Everyone was waving people away from the blacked FG band Lett ran 15 yards down field to touch it
Wright’s paly was bang bang but I get what you mean.

That was such a strange play, all the way around. Wright can’t be blamed there. But it most definitely changed the momentum of the game. We would have had a chance if we got it there at the 20.

Exactly. No way do I blame Wright for the outcome of this game. I just think it's an interesting comparison. Sad that we still haven't come up with a codeword for a block to say stay away from the ball.

Here are the specifics.....

The Dolphins won that game to go 9-2. Never won again and went 9-7 and missed the playoffs.

Dallas didn't lose again and won the SB.

I'll get you the prior season Rams analogy I promised via PM this week.

We are ok overall here. I think lol.

That was an unlucky play which could have resulted in a gained momentum very much needed by Dallas.

All things aside, the rule itself is very dumb. Even if the ball was touched, the player did not get possession of it, and then the player recovering it was tackled before crossing the 1st down line. That should have been regarded as a 4th down play and handed over to Dallas at the spot of the tackle.

I think we will be fine. We always need a lesson every now and then. All teams do. And yes, I'd like to know what happened then.

Cost us in 93 as well haha. At least we can be angry at a loss this season. Last season, it was expected. This was a surprise.

If I decide to give you the long version you'd better get some toothpicks to keep your eyes open lol.
