I didn’t say that..
That's kinda what you where insituating. You where like "man you guys wanted some tackle over him" which is downplaying the situation hardcore. Reality is more in lines of "a pro bowl level tackle at the 2nd most valueable position in the sport"
But how many first round picks do we have to invest on the OL?
That excuse worked 5 years ago but not anymore.

We are so far removed from first round picks on the OL that 1 of them is retired and if the other 2 retired at the end of this year they would both make the hall of fame............

Parsons was the right pick for both the defense and the change in culture.
Both of them would of been the right pick. I'm not going to downplay either

Not in my opinion. Parsons is changing the culture of this defense. And we have already invested enough first round talent on the OL. The defense needed to be addressed finally.
We seen how well patch work at LT has worked out over the years when Tyron is out. You’re talking about arguably the 2nd most important position to fill vs a LB. While I’m a huge Parsons fan and so glad we “settled” for him over the CBs it just doesn’t compare to an all-pro LT

It goes both ways. You could easily say "I'd take Tyron Smiths blindside replacement for the next decade over him" and it doesn't sound any better or any worst.

Especially since half this forum has a meltdown when Tyron can't play since he's a cornerstone player (Tyrons replacement would easily be just as much of a cornerstone of a player as Parsons)
Yeah Raswhawn Slater who was picked #13 is playing LT at a fringe pro bowl level right now. Good left tackles command 22+ million a year salaries so lets be real, we wouldn't be complaining about Slater on our roster.

Claiming "uhhh you guys wanted some random tackle over Parsons" is completely downplaying the value of the position and the talent level

There is no way the Slater guys can watch Parsons and deny that he was the right pick. Even having a pro bowl caliber LT going forward would not have the same impact with the need that Parsons is going to give us. He was the EXACT thing this defense needed smack dab in the middle of it.

Its not just about the position its about need for the Cowboys. Parsons is going to make the pro bowl THIS year and might make all pro for the next 8 years.

Parsons was 100% the better pick over Slater. Are you saying that if you could go back you would take Slater?

Some here wanted a tackle over him. I’ll take the cornerstone of our defense for the next decade over a tackle any day and twice on Sunday.

Its not debatable. Parsons was the pick. Slater looks good, but for this team, Parsons was it.

Thing is there wasn't an equally talented lineman so his post isn't wrong. You guys wanted a lineman, glad we went with the freak athlete lb.

Defensive ROTY should be a lock.

Overall ROTY will either be him or Ja"marr Chase whose having a freak season (over 800 yards and 7 touchdowns with 8 games still remaining, currently leads the entire AFC conference in both yards and touchdowns)

Do they do an Overall ROTY? Or did you just mean Offensive?

Parsons has changed our defense. I dont care how good Slater is or turns out to be. Parsons was the correct pick

I dont know who "you guys" is, I love the Parsons pick and it wasn't a question of Slater over Parsons, it was a question of an equally talented LT over what Parsons is now. You pick the LT every time.

I personally feel like the Parsons pick was the right one. I'll never bash the pick but if you have the option of supremely talents people and one plays defense and the other plays LT, you take the LT.
