MM commented earlier about Quinn using different schemes each week/game..........he loves it. Hell, there was a play a couple of weeks ago ( Viking game I think ) where we only rushed 2 linemen and dropped 9 back.

This is why I'm 100% confident our coaches will be ready for the Chiefs........whether or not the players execute, we'll see.

Mahomes possesses split second decision making. He is very difficult to sack because the ball is out of his hands so quickly. This implies accuracy and an almost instant open receiver. If Mahomes is too experience pressure from the D-line then it must comes quickly, something Gregory does especially well.

Unfortunately, Gregory is out as is Lawrence. They would have made this game far less challenging. Suffice it to say, they will have a gameplan for the rookie Parsons they would not otherwise have if the two DE's were healthy. By now, everyone knows about him and Reed is no fool.

Still, Reed intends to take advantage of the defense's obvious inexperience. There will be trick plays and misdirection plays. There will be some big play opportunities for the Chiefs offense as well as for the Cowboys defense. Think Diggs.

This Cowboys defense has the right attitude. They might give up big plays or they will make you pay for trying.

This Cowboys defense isn't about weathering the storm, it's all about being the storm. This is where it needs to begin.

Does the defense fly to the ball?

Answer:

I’m thinking 42 is Neal. Looks like he let himself get blocked. He’s the only one slow to react.

We need to upgrade the LBs in the off-season. The defense will be really tough then. It’s only Parsons and some substitute teachers right now. I hope they can hold up.

Kelce getting wide open is a concern of course. I think containing Mahomes in the pocket is key. Do not give him time to scramble to find the open receivers. Give him less time to throw.

Mahomes is another reason to have Parsons on the pass rush this week.

His ability to scramble, extend the play and make plays outside the pocket is a perfect reason to leave Parsons at LB.
Gotta agree. Micah Parsons at DE is more immediately noticeable because sacks are obvious. But I think he is more impactful how they are using him now. He does a lot of things that are not immediately noticeable when they use him as they have been the last few days but they are just as impactful as a sack a lot of the time.

I trust Quinn to put him in the best position to make plays, whether that be sacks, collapsing the running game or disrupting passing lanes. The guy is just a beast.

the best way to beat Mahomes is to pressure him and force him to get rid of the ball early, not sure we have the pass rush to do that now.

Hooker must not be able to run well.

Guy doesn't seem to make any plays.....for a guy who was a serious playmaker when on the field.

Of course I use a calming agent during games that may affect what I'm seeing.

Not sure.

We will miss Gregory this week more than any before the playoffs.

But if they can play with a lead, and they aren't shy about rushing Parsons, they can pressure Mahomes.

My question is what the hell does Kazee see!!!!! #28 needs more playing time!
His football instincts are leaving a bit to be desired.

If they didn't win the NE game that ridiculous angle he took on the late TD would be a bigger story.
