Oh, the other teams are missing 3 of the 4 starting DL and top OT and WR at one time?

Yeah. Just one example, the Packers were missing 8 preferred starters today including 5 on offense.

Defense
  • Jaire Alexender (2nd Team All Pro CB)
  • Z'Darious Smith (2nd Team All Pro OLB)
  • Rashon Gary (OLB)
Offense
  • Robert Tonyan (Starting TE, most TDs by a TE last year)
  • David Bakitari (1st Team All Pro LT)
  • Elgin Jenkins (Pro Bowl Guard) -- actually started today but left with likely ACL
  • Allen Lazard (Starting WR)
  • Aaron Jones (Pro Bowl RB)
Most teams are beat up this time of year, the Cowboys are not unique.

Isnt it obvious how much Smiths absence is affecting the Oline? You dont think missing Cooper and Lamb is affecting the passing game? Did you see the drops from the other guys?

Cmon man....................KC at home is as tough as it gets.
In regard to Tyron Smith's value & availability.....does Chaz Green vs Adrian Clayborn ring a bell?

I agree. Someone above said no team is elite this season, and while that is true, no team this season is getting exposed like Dallas is.

the Broncos and Chiefs games are telling. They can’t handle adversity or prosperity. The coaching is worse than originally thought, and once this team is down, they CANNOT get back up. Other teams like the Rams, Titans, Bills, Packers, etc. have proven that they CAN handle these things minus a few bumps in the road. Their losses are also close. Dallas got outplayed in every phase (minus Defense) tonight.

Really?

Rams are on a two game losing streak in which they have been outscored 59-26. The Titans lost today to the Texans. The Bills got destroyed today at home by the Colts. The Packers have lost two of three.

The idea that any team could miss a starting All Pro OT, a Pro Bowl WR, and both starting DE's and still compete at an elite level was preposterous. Not only that, but this was the game they decided to "shake up" the offensive line?

I hoped that the Cowboys could overcome such a depletion of talent, but it was hope only. Based on the injuries and protocols, the expectation should have been that the Cowboys would lose.

For everyone out there that is deeply disappointed, you kind of did that to yourselves.
These are excuses in my opinion. For all the injuries we had, an offensive no show is embarrassing and shows what the character of this team is. The defense stepped up and the majority of injuries were on that side including BOTH defensive ends. The offense was missing Tyron and Cooper. The results were exactly the same with Lamb in the game as they were after he got hurt.

How many teams in the league have a pro bowl LT and WR? The good teams plug in their backups and press on. Most teams have significant injuries at the halfway point of the season. We are the only team that claims to be a contender who can’t find the end zone against solid opponents. Then we as fans shout from the roof tops about how great we would have been if we only had a pro bowler at left tackle. Teams lose games because of injuries but they can still find the end zone at some point before the other team starts running the clock down.

I can't defend this team and the injury excuse everyone has them. How many injuries does it take to catch a ball? Make a tackle? Not overthrow recievers, stupid penalties as usual in the red zone, interceptions, just all around ineptitude by a team that once again is empty calories against big teams on the big stage. You can't fool fans who have been watching this shitt show for 40 years most importantly the last 25 which have been below Cowboy standards by any stretch. The Cowboys just can't get out of their own way, what can go wrong will go wrong and not because that moron over at ESPN says it's because it has been true in recent years.

Yeah. Just one example, the Packers were missing 7 preferred starters today:

  • Rashon Gary (OLB)
Offense
  • David Bakitari (1st Team All Pro LT)

  • Aaron Jones (Pro Bowl RB)

Well, you made your point. oh, the Packers did play a competive game today.

Horrible performance today exposing an awful offensive line, poor receiving corps, poor running scheme, and most of all, an incompetent and poor coaching staff. This team is all fool's gold and continues the tradition of overhyped Jerry Jones' players who can't win quality games year in and year out. Thanks again, Jones, for another assinine hype job of a team who again proved they are a middling to poor team and a joke and embarrassment to the fans.
So who are the elites? Everybody else lost today. It seems like all the top teams are going through a mid season slump of some sort and also dealing with injuries.

Some of y’all just need to chill tf out and relax. We got a lot of pieces that were out today. We’re not watching a finished product.

My point.....Next Man Up......we seem to have a drop off in that category......every year or a grasp for excuse. TSmith missing games has not been new.

Next man up is dumb. Going from Smith to Steele is a huge drop off. McGovern looked worse than Williams today. Collins to Steele has been a disaster. Its more like next 3 men up.

Who exactly would you consider the NFL elite?
The Bills who lost to the Jags?
The Bucs who lost to Washington?
The Rams who have lost two straight?
The Packers who lost to the Vikings?
The Ravens who lost to the Dolphins?

Good teams lose games. It happens. You move on and try and win next week.

hhahahaha this thread is hilarious... so playing a team on the road they boasts super bowls and mvps from the last two seasons and somehow we are suppose to win this game with no Tyron Smith, Randy Gregory, DLaw, Cooper, etc.... lol. odds were stacked against us.
Tyron Smith is the clear cut most valuable player on this team..... we need him healthy.
Can we start with playing better......just a little bit better? KC weak link......Defense...... looked like world-beaters today.

Dont agree on that one. This is the best depth we have had since the 90's overall.

Injuries are an excuse for losers. JJ loves you.
It’s not an excuse, it’s common freakin sense dude. You don’t think Tyron Smith, Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, RG94, OSA, and Demarcus Lawrence are worth 10 points above their replacement? You gotta be out of your mind, that’s like 300+ million dollars worth of football players. It’s not like we were missing our starting punter and long snapper - these are HIGHLY impactful football players. To think anything differently is just asinine. Jerry love you too.

If the OL doesn't get healthy and the coaching staff can't get it figured out they won't be going far, might end up missing the playoffs altogether if the Egals continue to win
lol we are immensely better than the eagles and we proved that on the football field (41-21 and the game wasn’t even as close as that score). People have a very short memory.

That was then, you can't realistically expect the same outcome when we play them next. My point was they seem to be playing better while we have a mess at OL that may not get any better
