Just because they call it doesn’t mean it is right. He did not interfere with him.

Yeah, it's a call you see many times every week. And each time I ask myself the same question you're asking. I thought the intent of the rule was that a defender had to be turned around looking for the ball in order for that point-of-catch contact to be allowed. But it is now being called in a way that the contact is irrelevant; a defender cannot face guard a receiver -- irregardless of contact -- without being turned around looking for the ball.

So sick of this excuse. The plays were there to be made today and it didn’t happen. The defense couldn’t get off the field on third and long. Dak couldn’t hit water in the ocean half the time. Injuries didn’t decide the game. Horrible execution did.

Why do you think the backups are backups? Because they aren't as consistent in executing the plays as the starter. You can call it an excuse but anyone who thinks "next man up" is reality, have never played team sport beyond pee wee league.

I get where you’re coming from, but it’s a crap penalty that needs to be changed.

If the WR decides to work back through the defender on an underthrown ball, how is it on the defender?

Watching again, it’s faceguarding at best which isn’t a penalty in the NFL. Bad call.
Was it the same blind moron who initially said Pollard scored?? The old blind one??

Listen I get some ref issues but that was the correct call. We talked about this years ago with the Lions playoff game. If a guy doesn’t turn his head they call it all the time
That shielding rule changed. If the defender runs over the receiver or makes contact without turning, yes. But covering a guy closely and having the pass strike you in the back or not letting the defender get to the ball because you are already in his path, not a penalty. Happens inthe end zone all the time.

I mean, you would think he would learn after the first three.
