Prescott or Parsons. If you could keep just one, who would you keep and why?

yes he is average, because even playing well, since last season, only average teams or losers have been beaten, the fact that those games have been won does not mean that it was because of him, but because the opposing team simply was not Strong opponent, he may have good numbers, but when Dak is really needed to prove that he is good, he just loses. and the defense ends up winning the game

No he’s not average! He was having an MVP season last year until he got injured and he was having an MVP season this year until we started struggling on the OL. He’s been under pressure the last few games and we have no running game. You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. Not wasting anymore time with you.

Dak is an elite QB. This would be a lot worse team if we didn’t have him. We wouldn’t even have 4 wins right now despite Parsons great play. Parsons has played great every week and we’re 8-4. You need an efficient QB to win games in this league. Do you honestly think the Cowboys have a good defense? Taysom Hill an average QB with an injured finger and foot was doing a number on us last night. He had over 260 yards passing and over 100 yards rushing on our defense.
Dak isn't elite by a long shot. Players like Parsons get average QBs Super Bowl rings. Unless we have a Brady,Mahomes or a Rodgers we MUST have a great defense. It all starts there. You put a rookie Mac Jones on this team and we still have the same record.

I would have to bet that Parsons can throw a football better than Dak can rush the passer. Therefore, in this hypothetical scenario, I take Parsons.

Disclaimer: I like Dak fine.

Trade for Tyrod Taylor? Trade two first round picks for Aaron Rodgers who’s pushing 40? Some of you should do stand up for a living. lol
Tom Shady is pushing 45 and is the defending champion and Super Bowl MVP.

You’re living way in the past if you believe that. Dak is one of the top five QBs in this league which makes him elite. We’re not going win any more games with Parsons than we did with Demarcus Ware unless everyone on defense steps up. The only thing our defense has done well this season is get turnovers but other than that it’s not good. One great player doesn’t make a great unit. You’re not winning in the NFL these days without a highly efficient QB. Pat Mahomes was turning the football over every week and the Chiefs were losing. When he wasn’t playing well they were struggling. He didn’t play well in the Super Bowl and they got blown out. It’s a QB driven league. As good as Parsons played last night our defense still didn’t look good. Even with him it’s a mediocre unit. When Dak plays great our offense is great and we usually win.

Don't know why people are dissing this thread...Oh wait, maybe because they know what so many people will say.

Personally, I find it a very intriguing question, and if you had asked me a month and a half ago, I would have definitely said keep Dak. At this point, I'm thinking he might be easier to replace than Micah would be.

Without question it's Parsons, guys like him only come around once every 40 years, tons of cats can do what Dak does and ....cheaper.

Ya talk Micah Parsons you talk Lawrence Taylor, Bobby Bell, ya,,,,,hmmmmm? Ya talk Dak ya have a list a mile long.

That’s why he’s the goat! He’s proof positive that it takes great QB play to win championships. Your offense can be your best defense when you have a QB that’s lighting it up.
IDK man... the score was 31-9 after all and the opposite QB was Mahomes with a full deck of cards (Hill, Kelce, Hardman, Edwards-Helaire, even Sammy Watkins).

He didn’t have a full deck on the OL. Not that they had players out upfront but their OL sucked. The Chiefs replaced practically everybody on their OL during the offseason. The Cowboys began struggling as soon as Tyron started missing games. We’re rotating Connor Williams and Connor McGovern and neither have been consistent. Collins hasn’t played well the season. Our OL isn’t good and it’s affecting our play. Our pass protection has struggled and we can’t run the ball.

Just think of all the better defensive players you could have for $40 million.

I'm actually on the fence about this, because Dak seems to have lost his edge since the injury. Unless he starts showing signs of returning to form, I'm on the Parsons train to Winville. (I know, I know. I'm just using hyperbole.)

Bottom line, a mediocre OL doesn't mean squat if the defense can't pass rush. Look at the Packers and their opponents this year. The Packers have been operating minus their best OL and the rest of them are JAGs and yet Rodgers is barely getting touched because the competition can't rush the passer.

The Bucs won that Super Bowl in a blowout because of their ferocious front 7 rushing the passer, not because of Tom Shady. Mahomes was running for his life literally every single drop back. (That didn't happen to KC in their conference playoff wins vs. Cleveland and Buffalo.) The once-mighty Chiefs managed three field goals and zero touchdowns in the biggest game of the season. Without that violent Tampa pass rush, that game is a shootout and it's a coin flip as to who wins.

Cooper Rush threw for 300 yards, 2 TDs, and lead this team to a win on the road against a team that didn't have a hurt WR playing QB.

This is such an easy choice.

This is only as anti-Dak as the posters who answer it that way.

Either way it's an attempt to try to draw a parallel between Prescott's value as a QB and Parsons' value as a defensive player.

It's like asking Packers fans of the 1990's to choose between Brett Favre and Reggie White.

It's not like that at all.

Brett Favre was a great QB, an MVP, and Super Bowl Champion.

Dak is none of those things.

And since they would never have had to do so in reality, it would've been just an exercise in curiosity.

To think this team would be 8-4 right now with Rush at QB all season is the very definition of myopic. Dallas needed a miracle double-bobble catch by Amari Cooper on their last drive or else they would have lost 16-13 at Minnesota.
