We don’t look on pace to finish top 10 in points against as we currently sit right at middle of the pack 16/17.

Two things that may help are returning players helping to improve the defense at the right time, and if the offense can get back to their previously dominant performances.

A teams offense and defense are linked together. Those defensive stats paint only a part of a picture. What was the offensive side of the balls numbers? What was the teams overall TOP? Turnover differential? Points scored? Those things are linked to a defense and a defense is linked to an offense.

let cooper get back to full health. That’s the missing piece to the offense. Dak needs cooper. That should be clear by now. We have plenty of evidence.

the defense is the key to this season. If tank, parsons, and Gregory can take over games, this team can beat anyone. Big ask, no doubt but the potential is there.

Agree on all points. If the DL gets into playoff form now we have the ballhawks on the backend to make teams pay for throwing

Offense wins championsips. Particularly Quarterbacks. Defense is just a compliment to that.

We were top 10 in points allowed, which is the only stat that matters, until Carr happened on Turkey day…..

Defense wins championships. If you can't stop 'em, you won't even make it. And it's still happening. A great D performance by TB just won the super bowl.

That defense probably doesn’t sniff the playoffs without Brady.

Too many of you turn on the Super Bowl, see a good performance by the defense, then start screaming defense wins championships.

No.. It does not. Those defenses are on whatever ride their QB takes them on and they will do their best to compliment the team. Occasionally you’ll get a great defense capable of carrying a team but 9 times out of 10 the team is QB driven.

This Cowboys defense could easily get to a Super Bowl and have a great performance. Having a great defensive performance is a normal thing for this defense but yet some of you still doubt them.

I've been saying this for YEARS. The bucs missed the playoffs 11 straight seasons before Brady arrived. That team and that defense wouldn't even be on anyone's radar if Brady didn't show up.
Yes, they played great against an injured mahomes, but without Brady, that defense was out golfing during the super bowl.

I couldn’t care less about yards allowed.

points is important. That being said. Give me the turnovers.

if the defense is forcing 2 turnovers a game in the playoffs. Then the cowboys are capable of beating anyone.

That is what we are good at.

If you want to see our defense play at a high level then our offense needs to build a lead.

Our defense focusing on the passing game will then create havoc. Especially with all of our rushers healthy.

Another key factor is when does a team start playing it’s best football? Lots of teams start hot and fade— great teams peak late and finish strong.

This Cowboys team has an opportunity to finish healthy and strong. Will they? Anyone’s guess

Playoff seeding is going to be a big deal for us and really every team.

Losing to the Broncos and Raiders really hurt our Super Bowl odds imo.

I didn’t realize the Bucs defense was that good last year. What is also interesting is the Eagles. The Super Bowl they won had zero punts and was an offensive shootout.
