Name a Old Fashion Name

Margaret too now that I think about it...how did they get Peggie from Margaret?
That's a good question, my late sister-in-law was Margaret, but we called her Maggie, and I think Meg is short for Margaret, like Liam is short for William

My wife's name is Margaret and when she was younger she went by "Margie". It's funny to see her long time friends and family calling her that as all I know her is as Margaret. The family's first born women are all a variation of Margaret for the last few generations. Her mother is "Peggy", her grandmother was "Margo", her daughter is "Megan", and her granddaughter is just "Marge", but all their names are "Margaret" on their birth certificates.

Heck, my grandmother and aunt were Margaret but they both went with the name of "Peggy". Never figured that out myself.

Very interesting...I like these bits of info and appreciate the breakdown/schooling. Kind of cool how her family did the JR thing on the lady side...I know John can go Jack, James go Jim, Henry is Harry and Harold, etc. but not a name that has 5 other pseudos :D Pretty cool
