He sure seems to be a much bigger body than last year and a ton of muscle and beef and power not just fat. Seemed to line up over the nose a lot today and rushed from that position in his big sack right up the gut that took out 3 Skins players including the QB for the day. He instantly improved our run defense up the gut as a two gapper in the middle of the D-line, and is a major addition to the team.... I thought he was more of a 3-tech but now I'm getting NT vibes from him... he must be at least 320-330 by now.... probably ate well during the 4 months off... but also worked his butt off. Excellent player and a keeper still on year 2 of a rookie contract.

I'm liking the Parsons-Lawrence-Gallimore-Odighizuwa-Gregory front with the middle 3 in three point stances and the outer 2 in two point stance. Just seems like such a dominant personnel combo.

There were a lot of top notch plays on defense, but there is something about that one that stands above the others

He didn't even break his stride.

lol was it 2 players being hurt on the play and stretchers coming out? That’s what did it for me .

- just like i like and prefer Parsons as he used and lining up in a various of spots - as a LB - coming in at either end, as well as up the middle gut vs a RB .

- i also prefer Gallimore as more an up field 3 tech and not having to be concerned about 2 gapping and working as a NT.. Let those guys, those types work in that
capacity run stuffing role while Gally works as a Chris Jones/Jeff Simmons type interior pass rusher

- Because the coaches want to implement their best interior guys in starting lineup, i would not be surprised to see Gallimore and Osa inside on most DL alignment,
As much as i keep hearing Quinn runs a 3-4 base or 3 man bases or start out in a 3 man bases,.. we keep seeing Osa/Watkins duo to start games... and that's just like saying it's really a 4 man base.

Watkins is a pure NT for sure. BJ Raji- esque. Definitely no Jay Jeremiah Ratliff playing out of position there. Ratliff was a liability against the run but it wasn't his fault that Phillips and company put him in a beefcake's position when he was a fairly skinny athletic dude.

Also, you're neglecting the fact that Lawrence has missed most of the season. He just scored his first sack of the year today. He is as pure of a 5-technique 3-4 DE as it gets. Elite against the run and in play recognition, gets consistent pass rush pressure but never going to be a 15 sack a year quick twitch guy like Gregory or Parsons just because he doesn't have the closing speed.

The way he bullied the center gave me a flash back of Jay Ratliff! Dude was so dominant and undersized
Yeah and that shortened his career. Him and David Irving were similar players IMO. They played best at NT lined up over the center but were often a liability against the run because of being outsized. Teams would counter Ratliff/Irving by rushing up the gut for a pretty easy 7+ yard gain consistently.

Gallimore shuts down the run all game. Gibson had nowhere to run today.

He’s not a NT and this team doesn’t need a NT. It’s not a 34 and it’s not going to be.

Why you want to change the defense which is playing fantastic just for the sake of change is beyond me. The personnel they have fit the current scheme perfectly.

Just leave it alone.

- Actually it was the coaches that reportedly wanted to move Ratliff out to a 3-4 DE, but Rat was very reluctant to make the move.
Anyone that knows his history knows he was somewhat of a psycho, and i guess they did not to tussle with him on that.
but that's a coaching failing.

- and at the start of his career Rat was actually effective and productive vs the run as a NT for one undersized, but playing that role, his body
began to wear down at the toll and pounding, ..and he got old fast. ..
Cowboys made mistake of re-signing even though he was showing signs of wearing down and on the decline.

- i don't see what Dlaw has to do with NTs, Watkins, and Gallimore.
Totally different position and irrelevant to the NT role.

I'm saying D-Law is a tailor made 5-tech LDE. With Parsons playing L.OLB near the LOS to D-Law's immediate left side in a two point stance. Gregory playing R.OLB in the two point stance next to the 3-tech RDE, possibly Odighizuwa or even Gallimore if they wanted to go with Watkins at NT.
