Can we beat the NYG this week while resting Zeke?

Agreed. Even Zeke with a bad leg is an asset. I feel more confident in him picking up blitzers than Pollard, Clement, or especially Hardy. Some people forget all the things running backs have to do without the ball in their hands.

Someone should ask Heinicke if he would have liked to have had a back as good at picking up the blitz as Zeke watching HIS back yesterday. And you are so right about people not recognizing all the other things a back must do to play in the NFL. Block, catch, learning blitzing schemes... and if you can't do those you won't get many chances to run it. That's just the way it is.. every RB coach at every level preaches this.. but soft head fans don't get it.

I really would like to see Zeke get rest to get that knee back to where it needs to be but right now still too much on the line to sit him, especially with Pollard dealing with foot injury.

The question is does rest help that injury..the Dr's said no, next question is 80% Zeke better than 100% 3rd and 4th RB on the roster? looks like he is to me.

Like the Washington game on our kicker. Maybe he doesn't miss a ton...

He had 4 field goals.

(on a side note, TwoDeep...my wife asked me why I was yelling at the screen over this last game)

If she is just now hearing you scream at the screen, you are not doing your job! :lmao2:

I think the question has to be will a week or 2 of rest make a difference? If rest will help, then yes go for it and hope we have enough to beat NY and WFT the next 2 games.

I looks like the NFCE is done but to me, it also looks like the no1 seed is gone for us so what's the point trying, only to hit the playoffs with an injury to what is a key player when healthy. I think even if we win out, the 3rd seed is as good as it gets so why not rest Zeke and accept the 4th seed knowing we'd be better placed with a rested and healthy RB.

Earlier in the season, we looked like a top 3 running team and Zeke looked like his old self again. If we hit the playoffs with the D playing up to recent levels and the O back to the "pick your poison" level, I would take that thinking we could beat anyone on our day. Right now though, a one-dimensional O is not going to allow us to win 3 or 4 playoff games back to back.

I hear the rational to protect Dak, you need Zeke but I think it's a risk worth taking for 2 games otherwise I fear this is another 2007 / 2016 type season.
