Biggest Position Need?

I am a big proponent of making a team better by improving their overall score (to do this you have to be able to honestly grade the current guys you have). If you can take a guy you have graded on your current team as a 50 and upgrade him with a guy from the draft that graded 85, you have improved the overall ability of the team if the coaches can figure out how to utilize him.

With that said, salary cap and numbers do come into play.

Which position do you think is the one that we should be looking to upgrade the most?

Here is how I see it.
As far as FA goes, hope they resign some of their own -- and one big splash signing of Von Miller.
QB -- they have Dak and too much money tied up in him. They will make no major changes here. Changes to backup QB at the very best but most likely no changes.
RB -- they have Zeke in a position it would cost too much to cut and Pollard under contract. No changes
WR -- they have Coop and CeeDee under contract. A development in Simi. A project is Vasher. Maybe a pick, but I can't see it being to high with your #1 and #2 WR already locked up.
OL -- Smith, McGovern, Biadasz, Martin, LCollins, Steele, Ball, Farinok, Alarcon, Hyatt, ACollins -- developmental guy I am guessing. If they think Ball can take Smith place eventually or LCollins can move that side -- I don't see too much need here. Bigger need at G than T -- or need to churn.
TE -- Sprinkle and Jarwin with a maybe (no for me) on the resign of Schultz--- this is a position I think they need to upgrade badly. Possible #1 or #2 pick.
DE -- Lawrence and hopefully a resigned Gregory. Then you have Basham and Gholston still under contract, and Anae and Armstrong as resign possibilities. Watkins is a possible resign. I still think they should sign Von Miller and bring him home and move Lawrence inside some but I don't see them using high draft capital on DE IF they resign Gregory. This changes if Gregory not resigned.
DT -- Gallimore, Hill, Osa, Bohanna, Faoliu -- Watkins a possible resign (plays both DT and DE). I think they could find a upgrade here. Possible 1-4 round draft pick. If they wait till the later rounds I hope they pick up Siaki Ika from Baylor -- huge guy who will at least DEMAND a double team -- not sure about his quickness, nor motor -- but if they are looking for a moving trashcan full of dirt -- he can play that role.
LB -- Parsons, Cox -- maybe resign Neal, and Bernard........Big Need and Yes if they can find a guy who can play beside Parson so he can free lance.........you might have the starting of something special. #1 or #2 round pick -- if that guy is available.
CB -- Diggs, Joseph, Brown, Lewis are all under contract. Wright, Robinson, Canady, KBrown -- 4th or lower is my expectation. Can't improve too much here.
S -- Kearse resigned hopefully, Wilson, Mukuamu --- maybe Hooker or Kazee resigned, Coyle. I can only see a big increase if they have BPA as a FS. So unless their board has on FS they think will start, I think they would find one 4th or below.

So from what I am seeing, they really need to look at LB, TE, and DT in the top three rounds with any of these dropping the DT to lower if they see another OL or FS (as BPA and will be starting by mid season at least next year). So in order -- LB, TE, DT, FS, OL in a perfect, it fell their way draft.

What position do you think Dallas should be looking to upgrade in the top of the draft?

The TE from Texas A&M on a trade down from our first rounder would be ideal then a LB like Harris Smith Miller or Asoumouh

Cowboys won’t get a chance at Ikem Ekwonu but that’s my man in the first. He is athletic for pulling and strong. Ball should be ready next year but whatever, fix the O/line.

Honestly the 2023 draft picks we should trade some for help this year.
Maybe trade Collins and a Future 3rd for a 2nd rounder let Steele start save some cash.
See if we can capitalize.

Brown and a Future 4th for a 3rd rounder this year.

That way we can have capital to move around.

Thoughts would be simple fixes and Future strong holds.
The A&M TE with our first pick if we move outta the 1st round for a 2nd and Future 1st would be ideal.

I would try this.

Collins and a Future 3rd to the Jags for pick for a 2nd 65ish area

Steele starts.

Move Brown and a Future 4th for Okudah??

Trade back from 30 if no one is there maybe to the Giants for there 37thish and a 3rd and draft up this draft

We are in the running for the playoffs. That’s when bodies are virtual. Imo

Who’s your starting LG next year?
McGovern, Biadasz, LCollins, Farinok, Alarcon, Hyatt, ACollins, a draft pick, or a FA -- Which ever one is strong enough to play the inside and athletic enough to get to the second level and in both cases knows how to block.

Biadasz is the C, Collins the starting RT, and McGovern is trash. When they bench someone, and run back to them with their tail betweem their legs after watching you play, then you officially suck

Farinok might beat out Biadasz for the starting C and they might move him to LG. Farinok might win the LG outright. Collins might get moved to the left side and Steele end up at RT. And McGovern is still young enough to improve. With that said, in general, I agree,

I don't know the best option for LG next year, but there are options.

There arent any good options outside of Collins. And that's assuming Steele improves enough to where he doesnt need as much help.

Farniok is a late round pick. McGovern has been in the league for 3 years, he isnt getting much better. He probably isn't getting better at all. These are fringe roster guy. LG is going to be a problem spot going into the offseason

I think starting to look for the LT of the future but outside of that a lot of it depends on FA…

A lot of our secondary are FAs after this season so DB is prolly near the top.

I think this team is going to see the OL as an issue and because of that it will be a target maybe in round 1. Maybe the consider moving Collins inside and drafting a Tacke. Or maybe Kenyon Green falls in our lap and we plug him in at LG. Certainly won’t be a dull off-season.

It's never a bad idea to strike a balance on your team between draftees, veterans and free agents.

The OL is an area where if it was up to me I'd attempt to find a LG in free agency. Tyron Smith hasn't played every game in a season since 2015. He's on his last legs, figuratively speaking. Might have him for 2 more years. Neither Williams or McGovern is up to the level they need to be, and after this long, very doubtful they will ever be. Biadasz has his issues as well, he's a little bit better than Williams or McGovern, but not by a lot. Martin is great, but he's no spring chicken, either. Collins is pretty good, but the double hip surgery could well limit his career.

What all this boils down to is that the current OL will only be around for maybe another two or three years. After that it's major rebuilding time. Getting a solid LG, one who's a Pro Bowler, like Decastro or Trai Turner, e.g. will help take care of one area of the team, and with players like Pollard, Lamb, Parsons, etc. being in their prime, Dallas should be able to make a strong run at a ring...
