Thoughts On Parsons Being Out For Entire Series?

This was early in the 2nd quarter and Washington made it 21-7.

I could see it being at the end of the game, but the game was nowhere near over at that point.

Anyone who has ever watched football knew this game was over when it was 14-0.

Because we were up 21-0 in a single quarter and would like to not have our guys injured in a game that we should easily win?
I think the next few games you will see even more guys getting plays off
17 games is hard on the body
I want players as fresh as possible in the playoffs
And it’s not like this game was ever in doubt

We won 56-14.

If the coaches are confident we can win by resting players a few series (and after the first few series and a 21 point lead, I'm pretty sure MM and DQ basically figured we had the game gift wrapped before halftime), I'm good with that.

It's a LONG season - longer with the extra game and, possibly, the extra playoff game since now only one team gets a bye.

They'll be no resting during the playoffs, and definitely no resting against the Cardinals (not with motor-scooter Murray as quarterback who is more of a come-back threat than Taylor Heinicke) and the Eagles (if we need that game to secure a 1st or 2nd seed).

So let the lions rest. Hunting time's a coming when hungry lions can't sleep. ;)

Personally, I am not a fan of leaving your best defensive player on the sidelines for an entire series. I'm fine with giving him a couple plays off here and there, but an entire series?

Washington had 1 legit scoring drive Sunday night and it happened to be when Parsons sat for the entire drive.

What are your thoughts on this? I'm hoping that this isn't something we do in the playoffs.
The WFT moved the ball down the field with ease when Parsons was drinking Gatorade. Come on LVE/Neal, you have to play better.

Somebody didn't watch the game.

I didn't watch the game? You just started a thread crying about Parsons missing a series after this team had taken the soul of an opposing team and was up 21-0 at home against a 4th string QB and a team that is completely worse then the team I root for. This is one of the dumbest threads I've seen in awhile.

Teams rotate lineman to keep them fresh

Just as they did with that 90’s D, I am all in on the coaches making those calls.

Parcells tried to do that with Ware but that never worked out well. He didn’t have the horses Quinn has. He used to call for Taylor on the sideline but he had a real D.

I'm fine with "some" plays off, but entire an entire series?

How many plays he miss.....are we talking 10-play series, 6 plays???? In other words, in context, can we really there are much different from the "some plays" you're ok with and what was actually missed. I"m not sure we can.......

This... If you have the players to rotate it is the best plan. A fresh Tank, RG, #11 comming at the QB on 3rd is what is leading to big plays.

All I know is I saw a 21-0 lead go to 21-7 as soon as Parsons was took of the field.

Yeah, we won big in hindsight, but we had no idea at the time how that game was going to turn out.

The beatdown was 100% at that point in the game and it was clear WFT had no chance of doing anything.

You had no idea how the game was going to turn out. Coaches and fans who were watching the game saw exactly how this game was going and going to turn out. I watched the 1st half at a golf simulator bar and was sitting next to people rooting against the Cowboys. As soon as the Cowboys went up 7 I leaned over and laughed and said. 45-10. Book it. They smirked and the next TD minutes later...I leaned back over and said..book it. They went quiet midway through the 1st quarter and I didn't hear another word until I drove home to watch the 2nd half. As I said...you are the only person who couldn't see what was happening on that field, and actually I now understand a lot more of why you view the Cowboys as you do. You just can't see what's happening on the field. I apologize for not seeing that sooner and take back some mean things I may have said.

Do you ever say anything that's not insulting?

I sense a huge lack of actual real social interaction with you. The only people I see that comfortably speaks to people like this on the internet are people that rarely leave their basements.

I normally don't like when players sit, specially for meaningless games as it tends to throw off the rythm of the team....but if its done in game here and there. even if its for a series then its OK, depending on the game and how its playing out. it was obvious from get go, we will be beating them easily. we had the game well in hand. so them scoring didn't matter as much.

so in this case, I didn't care as much. didn't matter. in a close game... I would be screaming from top of my longs and hopefully not have anything heavy near me to throw at the TV

Parsons is a rookie who missed all of last year and has never played 17 (hopefully 20) games in a year

his body needs a break

I’m fine with it in a meaningless game at 56/14
