Just found out couple days ago that a guy I work with he is Godfather to Dorance Armstrong. As for the player himself, I think he is solid player who brings good depth. Only way I see him staying around cap friendly deal but more than likely will be playing elsewhere next season

Seems to be in the right place at the right time.
But he's one of those players who you develop to be a contributor, but one you expect will move on to another team.
Easily replaceable.

Our DTs are jags. It's the weakest position group on defense by a lot.

You'd think when one of these great young talents you mentioned "gushing from the fountain" was later that day picked up off of our practice squad by another team like the roster filler he really is it would cause you to reconsider such a ridiculous stance.

Armstrong fits in with the DTs. Just a guy.

Yeah “ just a guy “ ….at least I post original thoughts on the board to discuss not just cut and paste headlines off Espn . Like I said your like McDonalds your posts are on every corner just conveyor belt talk anyone can read off Espn or Todd Archer . But keep trolling me your at 69k posts and counting maybe 5 are original thoughts without sarcasm and Ed Werders by line attached . Twinkle twinkle little “ risen star “ ….

Only the armchair amateur doesn’t see how the Dorrance Armstrong’s fill a roster so guys like Gregory & Tank can take a play off here and there . The fan who knows nothing calls players “ jags “ like it’s a science the “ football gods “ as they say passed it down like gas bags.

People will call them Jags but it is the very fact they are avg players that give them the chance to remain with the team. Dallas is not going to have a 53 man roster filled with pro bowl studs, you need guys like Armstrong who will not cost near as much as others but knows the system and goes out and does the job. If Armstrong price tag gets to high because of outside interest then I'm sure he will move on next season but frankly I don't see him getting a big pay day

If original thoughts means saying our DT group is a fountain gushing with young talent I'll pass.

The kind of backup DEs who can rack up 6 sacks and 5 TFLs over 4 seasons are invaluable to any football team. That is young talent gushing out of a fountain. The DE version of Justin Hamilton.

Merely started because we had no other choice per injury. The more he has to play .. the more he becomes exposed
i don't think of him anymore than an average joe.

We can always get the Armstrongs and Bashams on vet bargain FAs

Bit of an unsung dude this year. With all the injuries we have had at DE, he has put some solid starts. And he has pretty solid as a rotational player when the starts are healthy.

Fun fact, we have only given up 20 points in 1 or the 5 games Armstrong has started
Defensive line rotation. I truly believe it’s making a huge difference. I said it at the beginning of the season. We haven’t had this much talent and I can’t remember when

34 pressures from your two back up DE's definitely isnt bad

People get too caught up with "jags" probably 80% of the players in the NFL are "jags". Whose jags are better than others makes a difference
Yes sir, posters that don't understand this are JAGs..

Kamura has more upside IMO.

Was more sorry to lose a young player like him.

But players like Azur and Dorrance are available late in every draft or off the FA heap.

Is that why you say things like our DT position is a fountain gushing with young talent like Justin Hamilton? So I won't copy from you?

However I see the contract money going to Gregory, and with Bashem having a 2 year deal. Armstrong may not be able to be signed, depending Bashem's contract hit. But we also got Golston to get more snaps as well and ODiggy.

Free agent DE who looks ok? Someone will pay too much for him, and I hope it isn't us.

Thanks for reminding me about Basham. I love the 2 year free agent "prove it" contract, so we get a cheap year after the guy has proven it.

PFF scored Armstrong/Basham all but identically at 63.9/63.8. Golston at 60.6 already.

I expect Gregory and Armstrong are gone, and we go forward with Bashem and Golston playing run downs, and Parsons rushing on pass downs. Pending the draft.

I think we're heading toward more of a 3-4/5-2 look, with bigger DE/LB tweeners as OLBs, but a S/LB tweener as one of the ILBs. Could be a better fit for Gregory as an OLB, and we move Dlaw. I don't see us keeping both.

Osa seems like the kind of guy you pick as one of the DEs for that. And Bohanna as the NT. Put a little more weight on Golston, and he's the other DE of a 3 man front. And then Cox as the S/ILB coverage tweener. Sure looks like we drafted that 3-4/5-2.
