No, they don't. OJ rushed for 2,003 yards in 14 games. I don't recall any asterisks when Terrell Davis, Jamal Lewis, Eric Dickerson, Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson and Barry Sanders all crossed the 2,000 yard mark in 16 seasons.

I never really felt he was the favorite for DPOY anyway. They like to spread awards around when they can, and with Parson being favored for DROY I felt he would have to be clearly and unquestionably ahead of the competition to get DPOY as well

The asterisk should be for Simpson, not all the new ones.
Otherwise every new would need an asterick
