Matt F. is a versatile guy. A quietly good draft pick. He can play center,Guard etc. At Nebraska he was a top flight guy. A road grater. When we look back 2 years from now at the 2021 draft we had, it may be revered as one of the best in Dallas History. Rivaling the 2016 class etc.

Must agree. Osa was another great pick. It goes on and on. Honestly, if u look at the last 2 drafts we have had 2020 and 2021, we may have done better than any other club in the NFL. Gallimore and Diggs,CEEDEE, Tyler Biadiasz... alone made that draft. THAT IS 4 STARTERS FRM 1 DRAFT. Then we followed that with the 2021 draft!!! LMAO. This team was built thru the draft...it began with Dak and Zeke.

Matt Farniok.....
The Farniok brothers are following in the footsteps of their father, Brad, who suited up at St. Cloud State. Matt's older brothers, Derek (Oklahoma) and Tom (Iowa State) played football in the Big 12. His younger brother, Will, joined him in Lincoln a couple of years ago. Matt was a Parade All-American and South Dakota's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2015. As a redshirt freshman two years later, he started four of seven contests played, two at right guard and two at right tackle. He was the team's Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2019 after starting all 12 games at right tackle for the second straight season. Matt was named honorable mention All-Big Ten by league coaches in 2020, starting all eight games -- one at center and seven at right guard.
He was our 7th round pick,,, try and keep up .... :D
This is why Will McClay is the most important executive in the Dallas Cowboys organization. Not Jerry, not Stephen, not Charlotte, not Jerry Jr., and not the red head and dusty head grandsons.

The depth of the drafted/UDFA OL with McGovern, Farniok, Steele, and Ball (wait til next year), give the Cowboys strength in the trenches.

The man clearly has the pulse of this team. Underrated.

Saw him pancake the DT and was blocking two at a time downfield on another play, looks like a beast, don't care what string you are playing against. Who's with me ?
He was getting to second level and eager to clear path during those Hardy runs …
OL who is eager … good vibes

He played one game at center in college
7 at guard
The rest at RT
But he sure looked comfortable at center in camp
Pretty athletic for his size and he’s a big boy
One thing I liked about his college career was he played 32 games

And it helps to have good coaches on this team that can understand the translation and the handshake thats required when evaluating talent and transitioning team needs in to the equation.
Seems WMs evaluations have been closer to the vest of the brass, and they value and draft much tighter now from WMs advice.

Same here.

I know it was against backups, but man was he getting the push we've been so desperately missing.

Prescott needs everything in order to do his job. Every. Thing.
Just wait Risen, let me introduce you to our next great TE, the next Antonio Gates of the game...
They have been training me specifically on a single post route that will shock a post season opponent at the appropriate time...
Just saying...

Glad this dude got to play and get some snaps on tape. It would be awesome if he could save a draft pick, and be a solid starter.

I didnt care about the score or the feel good stats, I wanted to see who was running behind Zeke and now know that Clement is serviceable and Ito has been moved up from PS, also Farniok our 7th rounder looks to possibly be a promising addition to this OL.
I really thought that Farniok might supplant Biadasz as center before the year was over. Of course we have been slow to pull the trigger with change. Greg The Leg (cough).

Or the ultra-conspiracy theory that we have just been ultra-conservative.
We are going to Sand Bag the league this post season.
