McCarthy has been a fraud since day 1

I have been a supporter of McCarthy since he was hired. However, his press conference in 2019 told us everything we needed to know about him. He told Jerry that, since 2019, he had watched and analyzed every Dallas Cowboys' snap. He was then asked, by a reporter, what he had learned from this analysis. He then admits that he had not watched every snap. He only said that to get the job. That is the epitome of a fraud.

Mike McCarthy in his last season in GB only won 6 games with one of the greatest QBs who ever lived. His last few seasons as a packer coincided with the worst seasons Rodgers had with the team. The moment he was fired, Arod immediately became a perennial MVP candidate and they proceeded to win 39 regular season games over the next 3 years. The new coach is no all time great, he’s just not Mike McCarthy.

When NE cut Cam Newton, their season could have been over. But they went double time, had a strong year and made the playoffs. When Carson Wentz went down with injury in 2017, the season could have been over. When Vinny Testaverde went down with injury in 1999, the Jets’ season could have been over. When Drew Brees retired after 2020 and NO elected not to trade for a new QB, their season could have been over before it started. When Peyton Manning struggled and missed time with injury in 2015, The Broncos season could have been over.

Not all of those teams had great QB play. Not all of those teams were dramatically more talented than the teams they were beating. But they had perseverance. They had discipline, coordination, and execution. They were unbelievably well-coached.

When Dak Prescott went down with injury in 2020, everyone knew the talented Dallas Cowboys’ season was over. There wasn’t any doubt.

Mike McCarthy.

I respectfully disagree that big Mac has been a FRAUD (other than that little white lie about devoting himself to watching every Cowboys' play that, I believe, Stephen Jones lol'd about).

Instead, I think he presented himself to Cowboys' ownership as a former SB winning coach who was willing to do whatever might be necessary to shield his superiors from criticism and to carry out their wishes without ever questioning them.

If Jerry Jones was looking for a loyal lap dog, yes-man of a coach who was unlikely to ruffle any feathers while always being able to point to his (2010) SB victory as a way of (trying to) silencing his detractors, he could not have found a better man than Michael John McCarthy.

From surrounding himself with his long-time, and often unsuccessful, coaching cronies (like Philbin, Nolan, and Whitt), to his befuddlement over game management, to his lack of playoff success, nothing that Big Mac has done thus far in Dallas should come as a surprise to those who have observed his coaching career.

Big Mac is exactly who he has always been.

I've thought he was a fraud as well. Getting run out of GB with AR is your QB should have been a red flag. All I can think is that during the interview process, McCarthy must have said, "yes Mr. Jones" an awful lot to get the job.

yes

it was obv when he did that stupid pr thing with peter king or what ever to talk about how he learn so much and was so different

he did not spend any time looking at what he did wrong and how to fix it he spent all his time with a pr firm to trick some dumb owner to hire him

sad jerry was the one who fell for it

Agreed. Look at Pittsburgh and their coach. Mike Tomlin has carried the corpse of Big Ben to the playoffs for the last two seasons. Ben is horrible but they find ways to win in spite of it. You don’t see a lot of penalties and self inflicted drive killing/drive extending mistakes either.

That’s good coaching and we haven’t seen that in Dallas since Parcells left town.

What has Tomlin won since cowers players all retired.. nothing, and it wasn't like they were void of talent...the 2017 and 2018 teams were loaded but still couldn't win in the playoffs,1 and done both years..he has done less with more talent then any coach the last 10 years... don't believe me,check out a Steeler forum and what they say.

Since 07' I have stopped being so emotionally invested. Yes, I love Dallas and watch every single game to the final second, but I just couldn't stand seeing all the players gathered up after the games and laughing, taking pics together and exchanging jerseys all while I am fuming mad and totally so peeved off that it ruins my day. So I stopped caring so much and expected that to be per the normal until they could prove to me otherwise. Last night brought me back to agony and heartache. Just to see a team utterly self destruct with some many mental errors has me so frustrated. Ughh

I’ve held steadfast even when we were seemingly rolling this season that McCarthy is a dunce.

Where’s all the blowhards that simply pointed to our inflated record as an acceptable response.

McCarthy is a mental midget. Possibly two shots at your 40 yard line is optimal. A QB draw with no timeouts to move up a marginal amount of yards is moronic.

I understand where you're coming from, but I cant call a coach who won a Superbowl a fraud.
