This is not the best Cowboys team since the 90s

Dak and Zeke both drag down the team. They seem to play at the level of each other.

The whole offensive line with the exception of Martin needs to be fired.

But you can’t really blame Zeke for a couple reasons:

1. He actually has an injury excuse as a runner
2. He was one of the best players, to the point, it altered how defenses played us, for years. He’s reaching the end of the RB shelf life.
3. He deserved a contract more so than Dak, who in reality benefited from Zeke. Zeke did his job. If he played with Romo for 2-3 years minimum with this OL, defenses would not know what to do.

I said, the RG does it’s job when it can force the defenses into looks that give a QB opportunities to exploit via the passing game. Zeke and the RG did this for years.

Dak should be all world with these weapons. Yes, he's had a good season but a prime Romo would be All Pro with these weapons with a qb rating in the 120s. Heck, he had a 113 back in 14 with a bad San Fran game and a hurt back.

I think that is what made him think he was good, all the weapons. He needs to learn how to throw. He is much better throwing on the run. Why no bootlegs? He overthinks the game. He won't through it down field. He has to get confidence. With 6 years under his belt, I don't know if he will ever loosen up.

I agree. He's much better on boot legs. But they stopped that a lot and he hardly runs anymore. I mean I get it with that bad ankle injury but as far as pocket passer, he's not that great.

The problem with bootlegs is your basically confining your QB and your passing options to half the field. This is what we mean when we say “system QB” who needs an OC to give the QB options in early reads. They need to be used situationally.

Eventually the young QB has to grow into a progression QB, because defenses catch on the schematic tendencies.

I agree with everything you said, khiladi. However, Zeke should have sat out. The coaches should have limited his play in favor of a healthy player. So that's not his fault. That's a coaching issue that needs to be answered of why that was allowed.

I don't know if Dak will ever be able to exploit a defense in the passing game or at least not a good one. He gets rattled by a 4-man front.

I agree.. Pollard should have gotten more touches, unless he was injured too. That being said, this is where elite QBs make the plays. You can go with the third string RB for a game against a Wild Card opponent and he will be good enough to win throwing dimes against decent teams. If Dak was a real deal QB, it is more than justified to expect him to not have that excuse against an opponent of this level.

I said that because what they are currently doing isn't working. At least, put some variations in the offensive plays. Defenses don't even play honest against us because they know we are going to drop off passes instead of going down the field.

We are the best of the average. We’re good enough to get lucky and win. Against winning teams. And that’s the blunt of it

Mean 14 penalties. That’s why it’s not working. Discipline. And where does that start

It’s like a golf game and they give you a six stroke penalty. He had to make up 100 yards in penalties yesterday. I don’t see any quarterback doing that. What’s a real quarterbac, Jerry Goff Carson Wentz. Even Rogers with one ring. Stop with the bull****

I'm talking about the offense. The offense had 7 penalties. Defense had 6 and Special Team had 1. But yes, we are undisciplined. It's been like that for a long time.

We had more penalties than rushing yards. Shame.

I don't know why but a thought of Pinocchio when I read your post.

It probably was, in terms of personnel. We came up short for other reasons.

We had 14 penalties. Over 100 yards in mistakes on offense and defense. You tell me where the lie is

Not even close. 07, 14, 16 and probably 09 were better teams.

This team flat out crapped the bed yesterday!!!
Got that right. Nick Eatman had a good article on the Cowboys website about how they didn't really beat any good teams. Beat the Patriots in overtime and the Eagles twice and both of those teams are out of the playoffs too. On to next season where I'm sure we will be letdown again

I never said you lied. I just broke down where the penalties total fell. Where was the lie in what I said?

I was thinking of Pinocchio for Dak not what you said.
